most our saying that duel is not suited for cooperation theme of eorzea, but cant you understand that duel is different from killing. my idea of a duel is a friendly matched or training that aims to lessen the hp to 1 and not zero. if you dont want a duel in the friendly zone areas, then that can be solved to an arena or training gorund of some sort. stop making issues that it can ruin the story because with the proper design it will never will.

As an RP'er on Balmung we have these weekly events called Grindstone and Runestone.. These events are RP'd sparing matches.. and they take nearly 6+ hours to complete because everything has to be typed out. I know some would oppose a duel system being added but it would help these types of events go by faster to where we aren't literally spending half a day on one match.

I'm all for a sparring system. How else are the adventurers of Eorzea supposed to keep sharp during lulls in threats to the land?

Honestly I wouldn't mind having a dueling system, I wouldn't use it but what ever. I would however like to ask they they put some thought into spicing up what they have before adding more. If they gave us ten different pvp modes that were all boring wouldn't that just leave us with ten boring modes instead of two?

I don't pvp btw, I try not to que so much in my ffxiv life

couldnt you just disappear into the ascian world and dual there then it wouldnt even bother anyone btw ive been asking for duals since beta lol

another thing they could do is let non participants bet on who they think will win

I don't think anyone has a problem with duels, just not open world duels. The little arena in Ul'dah, Wolves' Den, by all means please. Duel to your heart's content. But leave me, and everyone else not interested, out of it.
