Indeed, when I quit playing WOW, DPS queues were in the region of half an hour for endgame dungeons, and it's been pretty much the same in almost every other MMO I've played, which makes me think this generally what people will put up with as an "acceptable" queue time before giving up and doing something else. It's like adding more lanes to a motorway, it doesn't necessarily reduce the traffic, it just means that more people will start using it until it gets just as busy as it was previously.

It's more like the city putting out more buses so people can use them to get to work, but everyone wants to drive their cars instead.

MAD DEEPS! Apparently nuking things to death is more fun than maintaining aggro or keeping people alive. No matter how "fun" a tank or healer class can be made, no one wants to take the role of keeping hate on them or playing babysitter.

I actually like playing babysitter, since my role is important regardless of the group. If they're good, I can opt to put up solid DPS, and if they're bad, I'll keep them alive like nobody's business. Everyone has their own mindset to follow, mine is that the healing role by nature has the most impact on the group, and that makes it fun for me. Most everyone else, as evidenced by queue times, would rather do more damage with less responsibility. Adding another DPS would simply cause tanks and healers to trickle over to DD roles until queue times balance out once more, and no one would have a different mentality about the role of tank, healer, or DD than they did before.

The "fun" I get with healing in dungeons is being able to weave in considerable DPS if the party is good. If anything, Selene is the real baby sitter.
