    Add another DPS to Dungeons

Adding another DPS to future dungeons would help with the ridiculous wait times for DPS in Dungeon Finder. There is a reason wow has a 5 man party, because having to many DPS is not just an issue for Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy however hasn't figured this out on their own.

I'm loving Final Fantasy but I'm not loving the wait times for DPS. In wow the dungeon finder is so fast for DPS that I never even think about it. In Final Fantasy however it's so bad that you constantly look at it and it's presence can't be forgotten.

It's so bad that I leveled up a White Mage so I can actually play the game and be able to do other things besides sit in a dungeon que for hours at a time. I like the White Mage but I want to play DPS and I feel like I shouldn't have to spend my valuable time waiting in a dungeon finder.

When I'm queuing as a dps I usually mark it for join in progress which helps a little but can kinda stink if they're halfway through already. I also go fate farming and/or go after my daily hunts while I'm waiting. Sometimes I'll get the duty to pop real quickly and other times it goes way beyond the estimate. It helps an extreme amount if you can find a tank to queue with you. Sometimes its the time of day or day of the week that plays a factor too. Might be a lot of people off or doing their static runs. Don't give up though.

No, NO. Never do this. Most of the "in progress" parties I join are the ones with the tank already left, and there's only 1 or 2 people left inside finding new members. So now you're stuck on some dungeon with no tank, and if you leave and re-queue you restart your long DPS queue timer! Now, I'm sure some of you will ask, "Why not just simply wait for a tank to queue in-progress?" Because in those instances, other people, especially the healer, will just quit and re-queue, leaving only me or 2 dps waiting for a tank AND a healer. This is why I no longer queue "in progress" as DPS for low-level roulette.

This is another change I'd like to see. An in-progress queue should only pop when it can refill the ENTIRE PARTY.

I'll say it yet again; we have long wait times for DPS because everyone and their chocobo wants to be a DPS and no one wants to be a tank or healer. Adding another DPS slot won't always make the wait times shorter because, again, shortage of healers and tanks.

What makes you think that queue times won't just shoot back up to 30+ minutes straight away? You've said yourself that DPS queues are so bad you switched to healer, adding another DPS slot won't reduce queues, it'll just mean that people go back to queuing as DPS. It's a self-regulating system - when people think that the DPS queues are unacceptable to them, they either quit or swap roles - but it's the tanks and healers which are the real bottleneck, and adding more DPS slots won't help that, it'll just mean that even more people can queue as DPS before they hit their breaking point.

Back when I levelled up my DPS (I Lvl'd them all), I used to shout in cities/appropriate zones and ask for a ride. "DPS going to X, please send a message if you're willing to come along".

Many many times, some will answer you, healers, tanks, whatever, and will cut your average waiting time by half (or provide an instant start, if you're lucky enough to find a tank).
As a levelling tank these days, I do the same and offers dps to come along. As a war 40/pld 20, I usually shout in Coerthas or South shroud. I get answers immediatly, and most of times have a full premade team.
"Tank going to Y, /tell if you need a ride"
I've found that even for me, it is beneficial. I could surely go alone, and be paired with random players, but this way, I get to make good friends all the times, meet nice people from the same server. This way, it makes "knowing one another" much easier, as we usually chat quite a lot along the way.
The "general" atmosphere, doing this, is also better. DPS and even possibly the healer, know they have been saved 30 to 40 minutes waiting time thanks to you. That time saved makes quite a difference when they're running a dungeon for a relic (and have to re-run it multiple times). Also, they won't mind having a first-timer in the party. ("Oh well, I just saved 40 minutes, I can spend 3 to explain a strat to a new player"). All this together, the runs are really nicer.

this is a FANTASTIC idea. I already have my respective Healer/DPS leved but as im leveling the rest, this will prove extremely useful!

Here's the thing about 5-man parties and queue times: WoW's dps queue times are also 30 minutes long a lot of the time.

Many games have 5 man parties. Some of them even have 1 hour queues depending on what you want to do. Welcome to an MMO. When people write stuff like this it just screams inexperience. When the new expansion hits there will be faster queues for many things with more Tanks and Healers actively doing more dungeons but there are still a lot of people who have no interest in the Duty Finger because PuG's have always been unreliable. Why wait an hour for a party that may or may not have a clue what they are doing when you can have a premade and get in within 2 minutes and know the people you are with and what they can do?
