played one mmo that fixed the problem. they made all dungeons have a solo option to them. it made them easy to do but downfall you didnt get any items from them. they did it so you could complete a quest and for leveling.

I agree, but for a different reason. I've been playing this game for almost a year but when I first watched my friend play, I was really annoyed by how LONG it takes to kill mobs in dungeons, especially low lvl ones.
Add another DPS in, if only just to lower the amount of time we spend killing random monsters.

though the question is "would 5-man dungeons do any harm to the game?"

Wow, that is hard to answer. In my opinion it wouldn't. It wouldn't make queues longer for tanks or healers..
But there might be also levels of this thing that I cannot just see as a normal mortal being.. developers probably know more.
Probably the biggest problem of whole thing and maybe the biggest reason why they haven't implemented 3 DPS party is, that the game is based on 4man light parties and 8man heavy parties and maybe they would have to change a lot of coding while implementing 5man light party.

Yeah they might, because development resources would have to be diverted to rebalance the game around a 5-man party instead of a 4-man one. This is dev time that could be used for other things.
Unlike when a lot of people moan and complain about dev time being used to make a pet or something for the cash shop, this really does impact development of other things.
And since it wouldn't have the desired effect (reducing dps queue times), it'd be a pretty pointless exercise.
Now, if they want to add another role (support maybe) then yeah sure.. but that's a more expansiony thing to do.

It's also a question of dungeon design. The dungeons, as they are now, are designed to 4 persons and towers for 3 alliances, some more pronouncedly than others. (Halatali hm is a good example of exacty 4 persons in mind design) New content could of course be designed for different amount of players in a party but the old one is not necessarily as easy to change as "just increase the mob hp".
If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
This. A thousand times this. There's a huge imbalance in this game, and at least trying to shuttle more DPS in a group will help alleviate it. Especially since SE seems to not want to change tanking/healing to be more enjoyable for the general player base, it'll at least mitigate the wait time a bit.Adding another DPS to future dungeons would help with the ridiculous wait times for DPS in Dungeon Finder. There is a reason wow has a 5 man party, because having to many DPS is not just an issue for Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy however hasn't figured this out on their own.
What part of being DPS is actually more enjoyable than playing tank or healer? o.OThis. A thousand times this. How often do you actually wait as DPS?
I admit queuing as DPS in low lvl dungeon takes time (15 to 30min) but for high level ones I wait less than 5min...
Just did back to back runs last night on DPS farming for dark light gear for glamour - barely had to wait
