Screen Edge Graphical Oddity

I recently started playing again and I have these odd "lines" on the left and right edges that randomly grow and contract. It seems to happen everywhere from the intro into the actual game world.

Things I have tried

Windowed
Fullscreen
Windowed without borders

Extreme graphics
High graphics
Standard graphics

I have attempted disabling and renabling options one by one.

I have tried resizing the game window while its active

I have tried no frame cap, 60 fps, and 30 fps.

I have tried current drivers and older drivers but not the current beta drivers.

I am at an absolute loss of what is going on. No other games show any issues in the slightest. Also if I run the FF14 benchmark utility the issue is not present.

System Specs

OS - Windows 8.1 Pro
CPU - E5-1650 v2
GPU - gtx980
RAM - 32g
Game Display - 2048x1152
Secondarys are both - 1920x1080

In your config screen, check the last tab, is the box ticked ? Your "problem" is that you enabled the graphic representation of the game sounds ^^

Yep that was it.

It's labeled as Visual Alerts so I didn't even think about it causing that.

Um hmmm, I can't seem to find this Visual Alerts thing you're talking about and which 'config?' Character or system? Been throuh everything 10 times and don't see what to uncheck...
