Magic vs. Physical Damage in T13

I'm a BLM really trying to optimize my damage mitigation (manawall/manaward) in T13 and was wondering if anyone could break down which attacks are magic and which are physical. I won't lie... I find myself popping both in some cases just to be safe. What a waste. Mechanically, I'm sound up to P4 (which my static is currently on). Just trying to lighten the load on the healers and eliminate any silly one shots where I wasn't completely topped off.

This squishy I130 black mage welcomes any responses.

Earth Shaker can be Manawalled. DB too(but you'll still be knocked back). Flares are Manaward stuffs.

Popping manawall so that it migates 2nd and 3rd earth shaker will help healers to keep you topped for the tether explosion unless tanks take both during earth shakers in the last phase.

Basically everything except for earth shakers is magical (rage of bahamut, megaflare, tether explosion.. and ahk morn) so make sure to keep an eye out for res sickness etc and dont forget to use Apoc when needed (res sickness, tanks with 3 stacks in P2 etc).

Manaward needs to be popped before 3rd earth shaker hits you for it to migate the tether explosion afterwards, this is based on latency though.

Excellent. Thanks guys. The only thing I was completely sure on was manawall for ES. Everything else is magical, then? Perfect.

Isn't for personal survival, but worth noting that the triple flare breaths that happen after flatten are also magical. So if you don't need to hold apoca for progression-weakness then your tanks will appreciate getting it every now and then (just try to have it back up for akh morn).

Which leads me to another silly question. If the OT and MT are splitting damage from Akh Morn, who should I be apoc'ing?

The times they really shine I find is wall for shakers (as above have said), if you don't have the luxury of being covered. Team assume I'll be doing this, and I'll let healers know if I don't have wall up, say if I am ESed twice in a row, so they know i'll be needing some extra love.

Ward if I've eaten two orbs (either intentionally or not!). Again, team assume I'm fine with two stacks and will ward, if I don't have up I'll let them know I need to be topped off for Rage

Apoc when the tanks are sharing morn is nice, but if they can live without it, I'll save apoc as an insurance in case anyone dies, apoc on anyone with weakness when giga's incoming can make all the difference. If I do use it on the tanks, I use on our PLD; I don't actually know if this best or whatever, but it's what they ask me to do, I believe the WAR uses Thrill, though I don't main tank and just do what they tell me here

Yes. Group DPS dictates when. 3 Ahk total = first, 4 ahk total = 3rd, 5 ahk (ew) first and fifth

Most pug groups on my server have tanks split the 3rd Akh Morn and most pug back mages apoc the MT for that one.

Apoc on the first is a waste. It is short and there's a lot of time for mitigation. In fact, my Whm friend typically solo heals it while I dot up the boss. There is argument for it being up in time for 5th but MT should have Sentinel, and OT will have homlgang, two really big cds. Which one you use it on will depend on tank CD rotation. Plan to use it on MT unless asked otherwise.
