I've put the game down for now b/c I've done all their is to do to this point. All storyline quests done, one rank 50 another class to 46, couple gathering and crafting classes around 30~. There's just nothing to do, NM fights are fun and all, but what to do when you've dropped gear for your entire linkshell? Faction NM drops are the only thing really left for me at this point, but I'm nowhere near motivated enough to continue building up faction credits daily. The 1.16 patch really turned me off . . . there's just something about going to Broken Water to see those agro icons everywhere *shudders*

    1) Lack of story immersion. Compared to FFXI in Oct 03 this is nothing but an empty space

    2) Troublesome interfaces. LS, /search, party search, etc..

    3) Lack of a good economy system. I know it got better but it still needs work

Basically the Devs seemed to forgeet everything they learned from FFXI when making the game.

Biggest being the market wards and the current repair system.

    Honorable mentions:
    • Uninspired and giant unvarying landscapes.
    • Identical camps.
    • Levequests.
    • The action bar vanishing between enemies.
    • No mail system.
    • No Linkshell controls and the ones we have require being on top of the person to be functioning.
    • Most spells are just different color explosions and the casting animations all look identical.
    • Terrain annoyances.
    • Unnecessary clicks to use UI.
    • Inability to use the mouse exclusively to run or at least the option to map it.
    • Some races still only have 4 hairstyle options at the moment.
    • Stopping to draw or put my weapon away.

Those are the things that annoy me. There is other stuff like a lack of chocobos and airships but I do not require them.

To be honest. The game didn't make me stop playing. I can put up with a lot of things and be optimistic, but when I have to deal with real people it's a whole different story. I stopped playing for the month of February due to being fed up with Linkshell leaders dictating what people can do and who they can interact with. It made me sick leaving 2 major Linkshells due to this childish behavior. Nothing in the game world that the developers created made me abandon this game. Just the atrocious groups of people I've mistakenly helped out and called "my friends". If it weren't for the recent updates, I probably wouldn't be here right now and giving the game another chance. That's just my story... I enjoy the game, but hate most of the people on my server (I.E. Linkshell Empires)

I stopped playing FFXIV because I went to sleep, then I woke up and ate food, then I went to class, then I came home and ate again... Stupid Rl always getting in the way of playing.

I've stopped playing as much as I used to play.

I have ~ two R50 jobs, a DoW and a crafter, and a bunch of others in the mid thirties, so I did used to play quite a lot. And the reason I don't play much anymore is because I have nothing to look forward to.

When Tanaka was in charge, he released a list of content coming out in the first version updates: Player companies, housing, and ships, all of which sounded really promising.

There is nothing promising that I can think of at the moment that keeps me hoping for the future, besides the implementation of a jump feature.

All we are getting now is crappy quests... When they can propose some more interesting content for the future, I will play more.

I don't hate the game, but I quit playing after I ran to Ishgard, got rank 25 gladiator and released....that was it, nothing really else to do except get to 50....then what? I stay active in the forums and read lodestone every day because I want to have a real opinion on how to improve the game...I'll give it some more time and I'm sure I'll be back on playing.

I stopped playing b/c Rift is more fun. You remember all the changes listed in the Letters from the Producer? Well, Rift already has those things! It has an auction house, mounts, PvP, raids and even jumping. 6 months in and FF14 still feels like it's in beta compared to how polished Rift was when it was released.

Well ff14 was released too early
If they gave it a lot more time, then it would have an awesome release like rift.. which i heard had the best release for an mmo
