My suggestion is a way to get more tanks and healers into the duty finder. Basically you could queue up as a paladin and divert experience earned to your job of choice such as ninja. This way people would be enticed to queue up as a tank or healer since healer/tank queues are so much shorter. They could even institute a 50% exp penalty so its not too OP.

It would just flood the endgame crowd with more people who have no idea how to play their class.

The idea of gaining experience to level up is based off "becoming better at doing that job". Kind of hard to do that, if you aren't even actually playing it.

it was meant for leveling not doing end game content you still have to do your class quests and job change like normal i was more considered with the 15-47 dungeons

i can see some merit in that idea. i would make it an item tax that required a level 50 side quest to gain. the side quest would unlock a special item slot called a Symbosis crystal. you can only have one Symbosis crystal equipped at a time, but what they do, is they allow you to level a predetermined class instead of the class you were playing, but take a hit to their durability for every level that class gains, whether a combat, gathering or crafting class. the item's cost would be measured in grand company seals and only works if the class is lower level than your own

you would be limited in how many symbosis crystals you can own at a time, like say 15. and while they can be any class of any disciple type. with only 1 of each class type. meaning you can power level classes you need for a skill but don't actually want to play as. it doesn't let you do this to all the classes. this makes leveling crafting classes easier for people who want to gear alts but don't want to sift through a crafting grind, and makes endgame materia easier to acquire, which are positive changes. because i can't think of anyone who wants to perpetually do constant leves as a disciple of the land or hand, or even constant sprite farming, when an experience share item could be a better solution. for the classes people need skills or resources from but don't want to sit through the grind of doing leves and fates for.

Just a heads up this idea wasn't intended to be used for end game stuff like raids it was just for the person who hit 50 already and wants to divert exp to say his level 5 arcanist and can dungeon grind to give it exp you'd still be required to do the class quests as the class needed.

You are misunderstanding what others are trying to point out as the implication of this. You played all the time on tank, leveled up your ACN with it. Now you are a lvl 50 SMN or SCH and have no idea how to play the class because you were busy tanking gaining EXP. This is a problem. There would be an insane number of high level players entering end game instances with no idea what their buttons do and how to weave them together.

Just needing to do the class quests every 5 levels is not enough. Developers stated lvls 1-50 are "training" on how to play the job, this would completely undermine their attempts to force people to learn how to play well. Some people still struggle learning when playing the class all the way to 50, but that is another discussion for another thread.

i get what people are referring too no system is perfect and their is usually down sides to any idea. I feel that the people who play their char from 1-50 and still cant play it would still not understand it if they diverted exp to it. That's why I suggested a exp penalty this way its not automatically a go to option but just another option for people who don't want to sit in queue for 45 minutes or don't have the time to do so. They could even institute a trial with the new system that you have to complete every set amount of levels that are used to teach people the class who take this route. I don't feel any of the dps classes have a huge learning curve even the summoner who I've heard people refer to as the hardest to master.

If you don't spend time playing a class you forget it. I leveled up my monk to 50 quickly only doing the basic stuff I had to do and I forgot how to play it. Sure next time I take it out for a ride I will need to learn it again or read a guide etc.
I get the people feeling like too many won't know how to play their class but it's a moot point considering people are already pretty bad anyway and it's not caused by just not knowing their class, people who can't dodge or understand game mechanics for example. Has a tank or a healer you really have to learn those and it would probably be a good way to teach them how to play. (Meaning you can't just auto attack in dungeon as a healer or tank you have to do the job and can't really sleep on it)
I like your idea Gendiin, I'm leveling my last class to 50 and Dps queue are a huge pain in the kupo. As someone who like to just complete everything it's a must for me to have them to 50. But I don't expect ever playing my other DPS class much after.
