Personally I don't see why you should be able to level up a job that you're never going to touch. If you don't even want to bother with the basics, then why get it to 50?

Personally I've taken my time to get every class in the game to 50. And while I wasn't the best at some of them, I atleast learned the very basics of the class to get it to 50, without using a class I had at 50 to save up EXP for something.

If you want to do something in this game, I'd suggest doing it right, not 'oh lemme level this up when I'll never do it hue hue hue'.

Yes people are lazy about getting their cross class skills (Multiple black mages I'm looking at you with no quelling strikes), but I don't think that lazyness should be catered to.

And just a note, when ninja came out, it only took me 3 days to get to level 50, partally due to having free time, partally due to a tiny bit of resting EXP, and the fact that I wanted to get it to 50 from it being so new to the game. There were times where I queued up with three friends, three of us ninja'd and one of us healed, we managed to get through stuff quickly, or like going into a dungeon that's mainly used for EXP farming. And honestly, I'd feel insulted if something like this was brought into the game. I know for a fact I worked hard to get the levels, and gear, in game I have, but you're kind of wanting to make it 'easy' for people to get the same levels.

TL;DR - Giving players a way to level up a class they're not playing/don't want to play because too lazy to get the skills would, in my opinion, be a horrid thing to do and would be a slap in the face to other players who have worked hard to get their characters where they are now.

The idea of gaining experience to level up is based off "becoming better at doing that job". Kind of hard to do that, if you aren't even actually playing it.
Sorry but these replies are the same reason i disagree.

There would be an insane number of high level players entering end game instances with no idea what their buttons do and how to weave them together.
I leveled all my jobs to 50, and about half of them I didn't learn anything beyond the basics due to good old FATEs and leves.
