You meet really great people in dungeons
Only to realize they're cross servers and you can't add them as friends (aww)
They're not in famrit haha

In WoW you can add their battle-tag ID (Same as our SE ID) into your friend list.
So every time they login with their character you will know and can invite them to your party for the Raid and Dungeons.
Some of player meeting through forum and form a static just like that.
Normally all other party member will be go into Party leader world instance.

It's same like having a friends from another dimension and invite them to have fun in your world

And probably newbie question but what does WoW stand for, World of Warcraft? Wolves den?

World of warcraft... unfortunately you cant do something like that in this game.

Unfortunately, outside of Duty Finder Instances, FFXIV doesn’t have means to talk to / invite players from another server. If you are curious from which server they are, you can look them up on the Lodestone page.

When you go to either “http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone” or “http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/”, you can go to the “Community” section of the website and select “Character” from the list.



You will be navigated to the page where you can search for Characters and see on which Server they play. For instance:



When you click on their name, you will see their Character Profile (or at least the things they share on The Lodestone, like which classes they have, the events they organize, blog posts, etc).
