So I understand -why- Merlwyb (and Kan-E-Senna, but who cares about her ) made the decision they did. At the end of the day, I even agree with it. Doesn't change the fact that the next time my character meets the Admiral in the story, the first words out of her mouth better be a gods damned apology.
Or what? You stand before her doing and saying nothing? That is all the hero can do in this game.

I don't mind them leaving the room but not letting us come and work and live with them as is implied REALLY pisses me off after all we have done for them.

They're supporting you in the shadows and that's really all one can expect. You're being accused of regicide by the rulers of a large city-state and regardless of whether you did it or not, Limsa and Gridania still have to maintain a functioning relationship with Ul'dah and by extension, the traitors on the syndicate. It's not a relationship that anyone likes or wants, but with the Garlean Empire and a newly minted blood thirsty Emperor on the throne as a looming, but ever present threat, it would be irresponsible for them as leaders to jeopardize the safety of their people for one individual.

Well, before we return to Ul'Dah to make things right, we have a ton of dragons to kill and new areas to explore. We probably won't return to Ul'Dah for some time. Maybe not till 3.55 if the 3.xx patches run a similar patch cycle that 2.xx followed.

Since we're such good two shoes, after the battle with the traitors we'll be forced to show mercy.

The traitor, feel so ashamed will either kill him self; either sacrificing themselves to save us from a bigger bad. Or they'll out right refuse our aid and "go down with the ship" or some trope like that

Better yet, be a loveable bad guy that'll help us in future quests like Nero

Can you imagine everyone being all chummy with Ilberd or Laurentius?

Bonus points for showing mercy after they kill one or more of our dear friends in front of us. We wish it weren't true, but for all the "twists" and complex morality they try and throw at us, the "absolute good" routine is wearing a little thin and also probably not going anywhere.

I highly doubt it will take that long to address the situation. Do I think we'll resolve it in the first patch or 2? Nah. But I don't see it taking till the end of the expansion to even head back to Ul'Dah or for the story to touch on it again.
