You should retire the white mage and main a scholar until the issues with the job is worked out. Lack of true utility and pure healing as its only sticking point is going to be a major negative in Heavensward when scholars and Astrologians will be recruited or raids will most likely make you have a backup healer at max level.

I wish they would allow scholar shields to stack to bring synergy between the jobs.
