Patch 2.57 please?

People would just farm and farm and farm till all their jobs were i130 in preparation for Heavenward where i130 will last several levels. Understandable why players would want to do this, but also understandable why SE would want to avoid players doing it.

I keep seeing this argument, and I can't quite get my head around it.

I would think that anyone who's clamoring to have the cap removed almost certainly has at least one job already in full i130, possibly two or more (depending on how much, if any, Coil they do). They're likely to pick one of those jobs to take to 60 by completing the story in Heavensward, and level the others later (through dungeons, FATEs, leves, whatever).

Given that they can already be full i120 left-side from World of Darkness already, what difference does it really make if, instead of only going to, say, level 53 before quest rewards start being useful, they have to go to level 55?

Because the farther the gear lasts you the less important that 50-55 gear becomes. Its a waste of development. And shortens the 50-55 experience when you overgear it, just to list off a few reasons off the top of my head. Like I said, as players its understandable to want to be i130 in all jobs in preparation for the expansion, but its also understandable why SE wouldn't want it.

Not removing the poetics cap is idiotic. Like, I have 4 classes I'd like to be great at and much of [insert class] needs Poetics gear. (DRG chest in particular)

and that makes it idiotic how? because you have to take more then a few weeks to gear a job? thats the idea behind keeping people subbed

Because there isn't enough time between now and heavensward to gear up the classes I want to gear up. That's why it is idiotic.

Why the rush? When heavensward is released you will have to replace that gear prior to lvl 60 anyways.
Back in my days people would feel sad to see their hard earned gear go to waste after the expansion, but here I see someone who want to get everything so it can be replaces. What a time we live in.

Well it is your choice to level up more then one job. Even though the way the game system is set up to allow you to play multiple jobs on one character, gearing up still seems to push person to only one maybe two jobs.

I do have to admit, I generally agree with their decision not to unlock poetics, except for one thing. With WoD being open, you can now farm all the 120 gear (minus accs) that you want. With Final Coil being unlocked, you can also farm out all the 130 gear you want. So it makes the inability to farm out as much poetics gear as possible a little odd. My only guess is that it's to keep interest in previous mentioned content. But idk. It is a little... off.

There is still plenty of time left to get poetics pieces. Assuming you haven't spent all your tomes this week, you will still collect 3150 tomes from capping weekly until early access hits.

I have four jobs basically at bis, including the poetics chest and pants for DRG, NIN, and MNK. I won't have any sort of problem finishing casters and healers before expansion either. I just won't have them done now, which is really the whole intent of SE anyways.
