What new race would you like?

While I don't know how other MMOs handled this particular conundrum (if that conundrum even exists), a problem with adding beastial races to FFXIV is that the game has a pretty clear division between the "player races" and the "beastman races". There's a reason why Ixali can refer to a player as "smoothskin" and for it to make sense regardless of what race they are! If true furries were added to the game, there'd have to be a reason why they're not just considered to be another variety of beastman.

That's the biggest reason why I doubt we'll ever see a furry race in FFXIV. Just humans with variants of size, limb proportions, and animal bits.

Viera would be awesome, problem is trying to fit them in somewhere to go with the game's lore. Unless dev team makes something up to accomodate them in distant future releases.

looks like SE just CAN'T deviate from the basic body shapes we already have have.... so I would like to see the next "beast-like" race to be based off something other than hyur..

Wolf/Bear race using Rogydens body frame

Bunny/Deer race using Lalafells body frame

Angel/Bird race using Elzaans body frame

I also REALLY hope all races will get a ton more customizing options! like at least 2 more face types for each race and beards/scars for all.

Also, Miqot'e really need more beast like options... scruffy tail/ears, face markings, fur patches etc.

I would prefer SE just give us more options for the current races then anything. Maybe say the next expansion just don't give us a new race but gives us a wider range of customization.

Everyone who says they need to deviate from the humanoid look seem ridiculous. We have feet armor, how would that even work? For a snake like race the foot and leg armor just wrap around the scales or something? Then you'd have to get into race specific armor.

something non-human would get my vote (fine with something that has a human-shaped body but animal head...)
