I just beat it in my 1st time melee dps in a random group that was struggling through it with only 10min left. It was really easily i was choked how easily it was given the fact that it is item level 95 to enter. I love Odin and would to see an EX version for more vanity items

problem is via DF to many try to odin with the bare minimum ilvl makes it difficult at the dps race phase... heck ive seen tanks die in the 1st 90secs in odin duty lmao still havent completed it from 20+ attempts via df n 3 with a few friends ;/

The ilvl req on that fight is definitely too low for the two hardest mechanics (Sangetail, Zantetsuken). When the fight released we were well into 110 gear and on so the minimum should probably have been 105 to be realistic. 110 had been available for quite a time this fight was added, and 120 available via poe for 3 months as well so putting the ilvl higher would have made a lot of sense. Those two mechanics didn't really come as much of a challenge to anyone with relatively up to date gear and the ilvl should have better reflected those two mechanics and the current progression of gear. Considering the dps check if everyone entered this fight at minimum ilvl you would need to be extremely good at your job to put out the numbers to win. If they really wanted this to target the casual crowd better the ilvl req raise would have achieved that nicely.

personally i dont find it difficult attempted it that much only to fail at dps race.. but agreed i think minimum ilvl needs to be pushed up mayb to 105-110 since thats pretty easy to obtain without alot of effort.. ilvl at bare minimum makes it just to hard for healers to keep up = why so many groups fail

Yep, tried him and couldn't beat it, he's hard if team doesn't know what they are doing, plus no one wants to do that fight anymore, same with Ultima. I really want to beat both so I can remove them from my quest list and never be bothered with those fights again.

I think the reason why no one wants to do the fight are:

    1. The rewards are only glamor, your AF1 is literally better.
    2. The fight is extremely straightforward, which turns the "hardcore" crowd off.
    3. The fight has pretty steep requirements, despite being straightforward, Sanngetall hits hard and the enrage requires pretty decent DPS, which turns the "casual" crowd away.
    4. (DF only) The only reason you'll need a second tank is if the MT dies, so you can ease the DPS check by going PF and bringing 1 tank, and 5 dps.

Just going by gear requirement->gear reward, rewards between i110-120 would be more appropriate, though i110 would already be distinctly outdated. I don't know anyone that uses this set for glamor, but I'm sure there are people.

I actually like how straightforward the fight is, as it lets me worry about playing my class more and less about other people killing me/everyone. On the other hand, the only piece of glamor I'd like from the fight, the eyepatch, is limited to DoM, so I can't put it on my monk like I want .

All the tank has to do is tank him as far out as he can while leaving both flanks open and a way to back out of AOE. Pop cooldowns for Sange and kick back.

All DPS has to do is bring DPS and avoid stuff. Spread out when appropriate.

All healers hafta do is Cleanse Slow, and DOT from Valknut, while healing through the DOT from Gungnir. Healers should treat every Sangetail like Ravensbeak from Turn 9. If you haven't done turn 9, that means proactive Adlo/Stoneskin, and utilizing Virus effectively.

I usually go on Warrior, since Inner Beast is a perpetual buff, and it helps push damage a bit more.

Anyhow.. the whole thing is just about dodging mechanics, and proactive healing, and proactive mitigation.

I cleared a few times on the Dutyfinder... but honestly.. why you don't just do it with a group of friends seems like error in judgement to me.

Am I the only one who saw this and thought of a trial that's just hardcore spiritbinding?

Unless there's significant rewards attached, no one is going to bother doing these extreme trials. Even then, what could be added? I don't think they could really make gear for them that'd be comparable to the mainstream gear without causing bloat.

How about a "free" in-game version of the Sleipnir mount? Make it a rare drop from Odin, not unlike the other extreme horse mounts. That may make it worth going back to do multiple times.
