Whew, this insightful comment really adds some weight into this thoughtful discussion.

With the exception of something like Demon Wall, do meaningful DPS checks actually exist outside of Coil? I mean, static raiders mostly will and do use parsers already. Generally speaking, the biggest problem if DF Coil runs are the issue is ignorance of the fights.

Titan EX does. Ifrit EX does. Ultima (both) does. There are only more enrage timers to go, it is basically the go-to test of DPS capability. We already saw how many people failed to beat the heart of Titan HM in 2.0 on top of actually dodging stuff, I find it hard to believe that 3.0 will be any different. Not that we can say anything, numbers are baaaaad.

You also have the quadruple demon wall in AK HM... If it didn't leave you off on the mob set that you wiped on, I would've had at least 4 abandons there because of the dps. Mind you that you have to be atrociously bad to fail the dps check for this...
