Whether they officially support them or not is not the issue because people that use them aren't afraid of getting banned at all. The fact that a PS player does not have the option to even have one is the issue.

I think it would be hard to implement an in game parser, that has the depth and numbers that would be required.
A simple dps # does not tell the whole story.

Will be interesting to see where it ends up, heavensward would be a good spot for them to try to implement and see how it goes.

Parsers are also against the ToS, but that doesn't stop players from using them (not that I'd argue players shouldn't use parsers but the ToS doesn't stop actions from happening). Which is why you don't see an abundance of misuse with them. At present those who use 3rd party programs, use them primarily for their static progression and to improve themselves without openly talking about them to the community at large. The only issue at the moment is PS users.

If a group is of average skill where one exceptionally bad player brings it down that player should be ousted. And before you rip my context to shreds (because it happens every time on these forums) I'm talking about people trying to clear content.

I am very forgiving when people are learning, we were all new once before. I even expect people to sometimes fumble in farm group pugs, I don't expect "top tier dps".

However, we need a public metric in the content where this discussion actually matters, or we'll just have the "250 dps poetics heroes" being silently kicked from groups with no idea what they were doing wrong. Since calling out someone's bad dps is against the ToS, even privately.

But of course, we can call out and kick tanks if they constantly fail to pick up adds or lose aggro, or healers who fail to heal through or mitigate unavoidable damage.

Please don't resort to constantly mocking progress in a single game. Parsers are not an FFXIV exclusive tool. Unless you know the circumstances of the individual you refer to (in that you know their MMORPG history), it's petty and incredibly stupid to throw **** like that as a mode of defense. Even if it were true that someone does not have the endgame experience from other games to find need to use parsers, the fact you resort to that implies you're out of actual constructive criticisms for the argument. As I'm neutral on the matter, you're simply harming the side arguing for official parser support when you do this. You're giving the impression that everyone on your side is petty like this.
