They should make a mechanic in alexander or a new primal where if a dps doesn't meet x personal dps over the duration of a debuff then they get oneshot by the next unavoidable mechanic. I would welcome that dps check to be fairly high as well. It could scale differently per class but it would give people something to see outside of a parser if they're doing bad personally. It might actually encourage better play if it's treated as a mechanic instead of a metric.

WoW actually has quite a few of these. Each member of the party gets put into their own phase and has to fight an enemy untargetable by anybody but themselves. If they fail to kill it in time, they get mind controlled, killed, or give the enemy a huge buff.

I would personally welcome it simply because of SE's current "official" stance on parsers. People don't want metrics and numbers and yadda yadda, put a mechanic that in alexander normal emphasizes that you need to at least know the dps rotation for your class. Then followup in savage with a serious check, any minor screwup leads to failure kinda thing.

Some players forget that parsing is already a thing in this game, and making it more widely available would likely help players to a greater degree than it would promote more toxicity than we already have.

Besides, most people parsing with random players are doing so more for their own benefit than to put down anyone else. I farmed T10 as BLM, and the NIN expressed surprise that I didn't play it for my static since I was the only DPS consistently over 500 without Selene, with having to do the LB, and having eaten couple Charges. Turns out that the DRG, by comparison, was barely breaking 400, but at no point was he harassed or asked to leave. He didn't ask for his numbers, and we were clearing fine, so the NIN never mentioned it to the group.

There was. It was called Titan HM. People could barely DPS the heart in Darklight and AF2 (Hell, they barely did it even with a full stack of echo), how do we expect these same people to defeat a mechanic like that in 3.0?

All that will happen is they will complain and moan and it will get nerfed. Just like everything else in this game after the first week or two. Instead of meeting the problem head on, we apply bandaids that doesn't fix the overall problem.

Titan's heart affected the entire group, so 1 bad DPS and you could still bypass it, without knowing who the bad DPS player was (if there was any). He/she is suggesting a mechanic that applies to each individual, like 4 Titan hearts, 1 per DPS, where the only people that die when the timer is up, are those that didn't beat the DPS check on their own heart, that nobody else could target.

I like this, But only if it was self info.

    IE.

When you exit. It rates you vs other without telling you others.

DPS you did X amount of dmg, you took X amount, you ranked 3rd.

    Without knowing the other ranks.

This would be enough for some people that are always ranked 7th 8th to go what am I doing wrong and change how they play to better themselves.

Titan HM was, like every other check in the game, a raidwide dps check. I'm talking about an individual check. Make it as lax as you want in normal alexander, just make it so you need to actually know how to play your job competently. Don't keep your basic buffs up? You're screwed.

Anyone who comes to publicly post about their issues should be responded to by people telling them how they can improve, resources, youtube videos, whatever they need. It's up to them to improve. Because without stuff like that we have people somehow in final coil doing 350 dps, groups hitting enrages or failing dps checks with all the gear and echo in the world. Echo was literally the strongest nerf they could've hit final coil with and people still can't perform well with it, there's a glaring problem that goes virtually unnoticed without parsers.

Listen, people don't want parsers. They just want to get carried, die a bunch, do poor dps, blame you for everything, then lot on all the things. It's YOUR JOB to carry them, and NOT to COMPLAIN.

Ok? Just get those terribad players their ponies. THEY DESERVE THEM. And be sure to Raise them when they die, or they'll complain about why you're not raising them. They're just here to have fun. Don't tell them not to suck. You suck. Carry harder.
