You're right. This whole discussion is pointless for the most part. People that care about it already have parsers. Even if they introduced an in-game dps meter of some sort, people would still use a 3rd party parser because i'm sure it would still offer more. All these people scared of them because they think their bad dps would be revealed does not matter. People that care already see their bad dps.

The only legitimate complaint on the topic would be that console users don't have access to a parser.

Totally serious not-joking first party solution: "optional" first-party instance DPS meter. Throw an option in the menu to specify if you're pro-meter, anti-meter, or indifferent, and then never let anti-meter and pro-meter people get matched together in DF or join PFs that conflict with their preference. If you enter an instance with an all pro-meter/indifferent party, you get an official first-party meter, and if you enter with all anti-meter/indifferent you don't.

Certainly nobody anti-meter could complain about not being allowed to join PF because their preference conflicts since you didn't want to play with the pro-meter people in the first place, right?

I remember when we couldn't have Vote Dismiss or Vote Abandon because people would abuse it... Never mind the fact that this thread has numerous workarounds to such potential harassment.

ITT: People who don't use parsers, who have never used parsers complaining and shouting about how they think people who do use parsers will act (pun intended). Assuming everyone will just be a grade A douchnozzle.

I can tell you right now if you have ever been in a PF group for end game raiding, at least one person in about 90% of those groups will be parsing, and more than likely at least one other person in that group would have been underperforming, and 9/10 no one will have said a damn thing to anyone about it or even cared enough if the content was getting cleared.

But hey that one guy who said that one thing one time about that one persons DPS, OH MY GOD BAN PARSERS EVERYONE WILL BE ALL 'MUST DO 600+ DPS OR KICK.'

Whether its my PF group or someone elses, I've done hundreds upon hundreds of PF group runs, want to know how many times I have kicked someone for their DPS? ZERO. even when some were pulling absolutely abysmal DPS. Because others made up for it and I knew it was the mechanics causing more wipes than the DPS, or because I knew it was enough to clear. Stop screaming that people will be kicking you left and right.

Sorry, but the people complaining in here seem to be the ones who have zero end game raiding experience, or who don't care for end game raiding or DPS, which is absolutely fine. Parsers aren't needed in your WoD/Expert roulette/Chocobo racing I don't think any of us really care if they disbaled the parser for that, but in end game raiding it's an absolutely amazing tool to use and gives you some great information, not just for whose not pulling DPS, but where they are struggling, what phase and why. You don't use a parser to just straight up kick people, you use it to improve both yourself and the group. Sure some people will abuse it, but those are the same people who put up those PF's that say '1 MISTAKE AND KICK NO N00BS PRO ONLY PLZ' that no one even joins anyway.

Stop assuming all people who parse are morons who will out you for your DPS, you'e been parsed multiple times before and no one will have said a damn thing to you in game or out or even simply kicked you without saying anything, maybe one person here and there but blame the people more than anything. No one really cares what you are doing they care more about their own parse than yours. Unless you are the reason for not clearing content in which case give your self entitlement a check because if you are causing 7 other people to not clear and wipe multiple times, you need stop being selfish and back out of the group and go get a learning party.
