What's your win loss? Your story?

I've been with the Twin Adder since the beginning of 2.3. When Frontlines first came out, at least on Primal, the story was Mael was the dominant GC (to the point of suspicion), Adder was second, and Flames seemed to desire third place. It was just very difficult to beat them. They could be a distant second for most of the match, claw their way back to front and get the win (this happened far too often). Personally I thought some of them were manipulating the score. Ridiculous, yes, but those were my thoughts. I didn't have a full understanding of scoring worked and seeing their score jump 15/20 points a second bothered me, but I kept it to myself. Around the time 2.4 rolled around, Flames clawed themselves from their third place ditch and contested for second place, and going for first place more often than they did during 2.3. This is also the time that bore witness to their nasty two-party-alliance-roaming-the-lands tactic (very hard to deal with, but they would still lose in the end). They would just steamroll anybody within sight. It wasn't before long the Adder started doing this tactic, but it wasn't long lived, I believe. This was the beginning of the premades, I think. When 2.4 hit, there was a change - you could be blind and notice it. Mael was winning a lot less than before. I don't know if it was due to people switching alliances, or Square slightly altering the map, but this is the period where my first and second place winnings switched, and it's been the same ever since. I've never seen Mael in third place so often before. The long time Flames must have noticed something too. I'm sure they were happy during this time.

98% of my matches have been Secure matches, the bulk of them during 2.4.

From my perspective as Storm, it seemed as though everyone who played a lot prior to 2.4 had gone into retirement. They got to rank 45 and then stopped to do other things. Also GC hopping (mostly people who aren't that great) doesn't help either.

I haven't PvPed for about a month due to having other commitments *Fenrir today >_>* but when I started out back in October and played 100-game-weeks while solo it was pretty much mostly 1st/2nd for me. Usually would end up with more close-2nds in most weeks than not but I was still learning things in Secure at the time and just trying to get experience. For the longest time up until about January, my 2nd place was quite a bit higher than my 1st but that changed as more people wanted to form groups and queue at the same time until my 1st overtook my 2nd by leaps and bounds. Most people have since gotten what they wanted from PvP and not returned, or are occupied with other things. I never really noticed what you mentioned with 'so many 3rds for Storm', as Flames were usually the ones there for me, and I did PvP nearly every day from mid-October up until around mid-March. I don't recall it being any different back when Secure was all we had other than when we were facing nearly full premades.

I will say that it sounds as though things have yet again weakened for the Storm, but there are strong points depending on the time of day. Maybe when we decide to come back, things will change yet again. In the time that I've been away from the group PvP, I think I'm wary of starting it up again as intensely as I had before. Perhaps I'll just try to do a game a day at first and see how things go. I know I'm going to have to get back into the groove of things before we get increase PvP rank (hopefully to 60) and the new map a month after 3.0 launches so I might as well take baby steps till then.

Anyway my PvP experience started kinda good. Got steady wins with adders. Especially in secure. Then about 2 months ago the decline happened. Queue times went up considerably and a winning team became more and more absent. Before I knew it I had more 3rds then 1sts. As of know, I frequently get in teams that have players openly admitting they don't give a $@£! about winning; they just want the tomes.

In my experience, Mael wins about 70% - 80% of all frontline matches. As this became more and more apparent to me - and the fact of those frequent DGAF players - I decided to switch. Of course, I had forgotten that PvP rank is GC based not character based, thus I decided against it.

I am still contemplating it as I'd rather be on the winning team then constantly struggle to maybe get a 2nd. :P

Hopefully 3.0 will spark new life in PvP adders on my data center. If not: goodbye adders!

My theory why you might be seeing better Flames teams in Secure than you might have been used to... so Secure is now an 8 x 8 x 8 game, and so Alliances are no longer part of the equation. Before, you could have a strong premade party of 8, but a weak alliance could make you lose... now though, if you go in with a premade you have much more of an advantage than before since its just your party against two others that might or might not be mostly random.

What that has to do with Flames on our data center- they're the smallest of the GC's in Frontlines from what I've gathered, and whereas you could have plenty of Adders and Maels queue for Secure, it's not going to start until it can form a party of 8 Flames. So if you have a team of strong Flames players for a full or partial premade, they can probably get a Slaughter match without an insane wait time, and not be held back by alliance members who are weaker players as they might have been when we had 72 man secure mode. But from my experience the last couple of months, trying to get a premade into a Secure match for Adders just doesn't happen. We'd try with a mostly full party, give up an hour later. Even trying to queue with 3 people would often be a waste of time. And as a result of that, most of the Adders I know on our server who were regular players have been so turned off by the experience of long waits for matches that might not even happen they don't bother anymore.

So to sum things up, my theory is a good team of players in the least dominant GC can probably get into Secure mode as a premade successfully when they want to. But people in other GC's, especially from smaller servers, are having to PUG it more and more which is an instant disadvantage.

I started with Wolves Den, quickly got bored of it. And didn't PvP again until after Frontlines came out, I've really rediscovered PvP when I had to get 'light' for my relic. Yes, I was one of those 'filthy light farmers'. Started to like it a lot and was almost doing nothing else but PvP'ing. I've PvP'ed with the Adders since the beginning but recently their overall performance dwindled a lot. People don't listen and do whatever. One even went as far as telling the team in a secure match to ignore everything and take Flames' OP, a lvl 45 player with the ALS mount but I was the 'idiot' for protecting Adder's OP and telling them to go get the Node... I think that was the highlight of my PvP experience with the B'Adders.
Queue times started increasing, I've got my ALS mount and don't really want to go back to it again yet.

    *checks frontline standings on lodestone*

A whole lot of 7 B'Adders from Chaos made it into the top 100!

    (stupid Adders ruined my standings-ration...)

I really just did FL for the glamor, thats it. Got to rank 45, was #1 on Faerie for February 2015, and was #21 on Aether for February 2015.

At least one half of my loses are against win traders. Just got one specially stupid now.

Mael got a lonely Flame-Ninja with battle high in their group, but they just worked together, to serve Flame the points they need to win.

It was 15/9/10 for us before, then Mael just did everything to push Flames to place 1. Ended with 16/9/30. Yes, Mael did not even try to make a kill, they just spamed CC, so Flames could Limit b00n us.

There are almost never normal matches. In every single one of them you got people who can't be CCed (without any message you normally get), who run faster then possible, teleport, who must have insane lag (push back totally kick them in an absurd direction - which saves them, or can't be interrupted at all), but still got no problem to stay at melee range or instantly heal any damage on their people (beside those 2-3s lag...), can spam CC without any DR or hit you with LB even if you are 10m out of it (with a latency of 20-30ms).

I don't care if these are hacks or bugs or whatever, but together with the typical exploit you can find in any game, when people start to win trade and so one, it's just a joke and only good for the daily roulette = some quick 40 poetrys. And that's the simply reason that PvP is a rotting corpse.

Also had some games in Secure, where for example Mael seemed to don't care at all for their OP - but also were not mid. Just "afk". Had seven Flames around me, no Mael in sight on the top, but still they lost their OP - and also did not get any other. You can't be THIS bad.
