Running the benchmark in DX9 actually gives higher scores than DX11 IIRC.It will run with 60 FPS on Desktop Max most of the time, might take SLIGHT frame rate hits in really crowded areas, depending on your other components. With the DX 11 client, that is likely to improve because DX 11 handles resources better. I have a GTX 970 and don't think I've ever seen below 50 FPS, even in huge hunts during prime time, just hanging out at the FC, if I use unlimited FPS, it gets into the hundreds.
you only get lower scores on DX11 over DX9c if you your have a AMD card all 12 different cards i have tested show thisRunning the benchmark in DX9 actually gives higher scores than DX11 IIRC.
Get the GTX 970, its performs better if you can dish out extra 150 dollars. My benchmark is hitting 13000+ with it on max D11 1080p
IDK where you are getting this, or if my card settings are wrong, but I'm using an MSI GTX 960 4gb 128 bit, and I'm seeing lower scores on DX11 over DX9 also.
I have a I5 3330 3.0 GHZ 8GB of ram and a GYX 960 4GB and I get 60 fps almost everywhere. The only time it drops is where I am in a area with a ton of people. ANd on the DX11 benchmark I got 7038 with my crap processor. I am going to be building a new tower with a I5 4690k and 16gb of ram and I am going to use this video card. I am sure the 4690k will be a nice jump in speed over what I have now.
until last christmas i was using a 460gtx, 4 gigs of ram, and a 6 core processor. i can run on max settings. i have only upgraded my graphics processor, but i'm sure my old one could run the dx11 version on max as well.
i'm sure you won't have any problems. in fact you probably don't need that much power unless you have it for business reasons.
I just upgraded from a GTX 570 to a GTX 960. My old one would randomly quit when I would work in my animation programs. It was due for an upgrade. The 960 works very well. I have not overclocked it yet (got it yesterday). I bought mine from www.newegg.com and got $30 off. Not sure if that option is still up but its worth it.![]()

Okay, but I'm not using EVGA. I use MSI, so the software I'm using is different, since the stock settings of the Afterburner case needless wear and tear on the fan motors due to start and stop thresholds. I am running an i5, but again, this is with the same machine, and only changing the DX 9 to DX11 saw a drop in score. I have an upgrade to an I7. The Chip is already in my possession, just have to find time hopefully during a maintenance to back up everything then switch CPUs and reformat everything back. I'm only running 8gb ram, but I don't even max out the usage on just one of the 4gb sticks anyways, so my Ram isn't the throttle. I'll die before spending 5 or 6 hundred dollars on a solid state hard drive with half the capacity as my 100 dollar disk drive just for load speeds. Again, I'm not concerned with the scores themselves, just mentioning that the scores did drop despite my GPU also being a GeForce GTX 960 4GB 128 bit.Ceodore EVGA 960 SSC default nvida 3d control settings Bench settings are maximum fullscreen @ 1080p
