I do agree that accuracy is an awfully boring and annoying stat. WoW removed all that nonsense and I feel it became a lot better game for it, and there was no real loss of "complexity" either. Then again, WoW has a bit better stat structure overall. FFXIV could really use some stat rework, which I hope we'll see in the expansion.

Accuracy and Determination could be fused into each other in such a way that we'd only have Determination: being below the encounter's threshold would not make you miss, but instead have a chance of dealing half damage, and above the threshold it would work as Determination does currently. This would fix two silly stats and turn it into one more interesting stat. Skill/Spell Speed is another stat needs some attention, for example make it affect auto-attack speed and resource regeneration rate. Parry needs to be made more desirable for tanks, and maybe more interesting by giving abilities that only work after a parry.

To add more complexity, which many people seem to be worried about, some new stats would be nice to see. A stat to make crits hit harder would be a good start. Set bonuses of course would be another fancy thing to see. To copy WoW even more, maybe a stat that does different things based on the job. For example, increases fire damage for BLM but for SMN gives a chance of DoT ticks to happen twice, or for Warrior makes Inner Beast heal more. There are many ways to make gearing and stats more interesting and I hope its something Squeenix is working on.
