Uncapping poetics

With Heavensward around the corner, I was curious if the dev's had mentioned or if anybody had heard if they were going to unlock poetic tome caps before the release of the expansion. Its kind of silly to keep the cap in place with final coil being unlocked. It would help keep player interest in the game until the expansion, since there not much left going on, and I know a few people are un-subbing, not because of this, but this is a small reason why, since its related to "I'm bored and theres no cotent to do"

They still had soldiery capped when second coil was unlimited with loot, and same with Mythology when first coil was no longer weekly bound.

Plus with the expansion, there's gonna be new gear.

These people are sad. They are spending way too much time on this game. There is more content now then ever. I am sure with in a month or less after 3.0 is out these same people will be bored again. It's not that there is nothing to do, but there is a lot they don't want to do. Every MMO I have ever played people get bored no matter how much content is added.

I specifically have done a ton of stuff. I have 3 full relics to Zeta, Farmed final coil till my eyes bleed (4 i130 jobs), I do my dailys, well daily, and still help people in my FC through w/e they need. I have all my crafts maxed out, and only craft when I need money, or to make raid supplies. There is -very- little to do anymore, besides pony farming, and occasionally more final coil farming, for jobs I barely play. I don't think its unreasonable to uncap poetics at this stage.

I know people like you on Faerie server, they unsubscribed till FFXIV:HW is up. Meanwhile they play other offline games.

If I remember well I read on a traduction from an interview (do not remember which one sorry ><) that poetics will still be capped after heavensward since ilvl130 will be still powerful during leveling.

That's why they do not plan to remove it for now.

And do no forget that there will be players who will not buy the expansion so they may stay with our two currents currencies where the others will get in addition the new currencies.

I would have liked poetics to be uncapped. I was thinking about buying an ironworks weapon, but ended up spending my tomes on some boots first, extending my wait on the weapon to another 3 weeks worth of weekly currency.

It's almost too late now, by the time it uncaps, I won't care about ironworks sets any more. Will be getting crafted gear when the expansion is released, then on to Law and Esoterics tomes when the endgame is unlocked.

Amazing you do this much, but there are many like you in every MMO i have played. No matter how much content there is, you spend so much time playing you run out of things to do.

There are other fun things though, like the beast tribe quests, sightseeing, Moogle mail quests. But I am sure you would chew through those too, if you haven't already. And if they did uncap poetics i know you will max out what you can get with them in no time. I think its time for you and others like you to take a break maybe?

This is completely false. Soldiery became uncapped at the same time that they removed Second Coil's loot restriction (and added it to DF and introduced Final Coil and Poetics), and Mythology was uncapped when they removed BCoB's loot restrictions (and added it to DF and introduced Second Coil and Soldiery). All they've done is unlock Final Coil early (relative to a new patch -- about the same amount of actual time though).

They've said that they haven't made poetics unlimited yet because i130 gear will be better than gear otherwise available for the first few levels after 50 at least. I'm not exactly sure how that qualifies as reasoning, but that's what I've heard anyway. Still plenty of time to fully gear at least 2 if not 3+ jobs.

Time enough to cap how many jobs? Should we maybe walk into the expansion at/near the poetics cap to trade them in for Tomestones of Law?
