Especially when they are story line based.
Well given that we don't have much extra content from leves at the moment, apart from a few dungeons and random stuff, I figured making leves last a bit longer would just help stretch out the playing time a little bit. Obviously once more content was added and more means to travel (like chocobos which I'm going to spend the rest of the game with, bye-bye teleports, chocobos = more fun ) then the leve tele lockout would be moved from leves to something more substantial.

Here's the funny thing, even though me and you have been bickering over immersion all the time, I probably run as much as you do, the only time I use teleport is if I'm short on time and just want to get my last couple of leves done before I have to go do something. All other times I start in La Noscea, do those battle+crafting leves, ride the boat to thana, run to uldah, do all those battle+crafting leves, and then to gridania and finish them all off. I save my anima for should I ever need it or if a linkshell member needs a quick teleport somewhere for some reason.

So yeah, I don't use the word 'immersion' as my excuse to do this marathon jog at every leve reset, but I do do it, and my excuse for it is "this game looks too gawdang pretty to just skip past, I want to admire it"

Even Thanalan can be pretty if you know where to look
