Does instant transportation effect game immersion?

if FFXIV allowed everyone to choose their level and warp anywhere and stuff like that, do you think it would have players?

Would I play that game? Yes. I enjoy fast travel and being max level in a game.

I would find it more enjoyable to level my character myself, however, so having the option to level my character myself would entice me to play the game even more.
