Which if you read between the lines they are saying if you want something hardcore play FFXI and if you want something that is different and casual friendly pick up FFXIV. Also obviously they did say there would be content for everyone but the emphasized aiming to make the game so you can enjoy it whether you had 30 minutes to play or 2+ hours.
link please. Because if you played FFXIV when it first came out you would know that by rank 20 there were no real casual options and you had to group up to get sp on DoM or DoW

and if the game was released by that, its a pretty good idea of what they game was intended to be like.

By casual i think they meant you didnt need to set up a strict party and wait around for jobs, you could just join an alliance (large group) and roll through stuff. Which in a way did make partying a lot more accessible than in ffxi and more "casual" friendly.
