Does instant transportation effect game immersion?

read 2 threads above yours. This is an -M M O- not diablo. The journey, even if its repetitive, is part of an MMO. Once you instant-port everything, the wonder of the world dissappears. Now no offence to FFXIV but they definately aren't winning people over with their battle system, so the "wonder of the world" or put another way "the classic FF world feel" is important.

It's not just about you. Some people would like to skip it. You can't speak for the whole community. So stop with the self righteousness and acknowledge that just because there are a few loud mouthed sacred immersion keepers backing you up, you have several languages and players... who stay away from official forms like it's the plague that will probably disagree with you.

The argument with immersion is ridiculous because it's personal and you can't argue other players personal game play, likes, dislikes, immersion, anything. The fact is: This is just you were talking about. So, let's cut the crap and accept that there will be choice to accommodate all players whose opinions all greatly vary. Maybe some people are not immersed as much as you are. It's not the same reflection from player to player to player.
