    Future uses include upgrade to new uncapped tome at a 1:5 ratio, and maybe crafting items. Big maybe on the crafting items, because they might do away with them completely 4 weeks into expansion when they add the new capped tomes.

    This sentence caught my eye. Is it confirmed that the capped tomes will be locked out with Alexander? I assumed that would be the case but I assumed things before and I found myself to be way more off than expected.

    Not sure exactly what you are asking. New tomes of law released at 3.0, probably gonna be ilvl140 gear, they will be uncapped. 2 weeks later Alexander weaksauce released, likely to drop ilvl150 gear. 2 weeks after that, Alexander hard and weekly capped esoteric tomes released.
