90002 error even while using VPN "WTFast"?

So since neither my ISP or Square Enix wants to address this issue,I paid for the the premium VPN tunneling service "WTFast".

No matter which servers I choose I still get the 90002 error every hour while my internet keeps working just fine for everything else.I tried replacing every bit of hardware that I could.

I changed my modem twice in 1 week,replaced all cables even had my ISP send a tech to replace the cable that goes to my house and this error still happens every hour.

Now I have been harassing my ISP for well over a week now and have them given all needed data to investigate the route but they insist there is nothing wrong.And while the error says my problem is client sided,after yelling at my ISP for a week and them trying to search for the cause and apparently not finding anything,I'm starting to believe them.

I have zero problems with any other online function.And I know a bit about how internet routing works,I have been doing some research for a while now but at this point,either my ISP is lying to me or this 90002 error isn't the correct error that should be appearing.

I don't claim to know much but regardless of how much anyone knows,only Square Enix devs can know if the problem lies on their end.All I ask for is for Square to provide some answers.

What is the point of this forum if they don't participate at all? No matter how much any player may know about these kind of issues none of us will know better than a Square Enix tech that can actually see what is going on.The rest of us can just speculate as much as some want state what they say as fact.

Can we get some real answers here? I need help from a Square tech that knows exactly what is going on.

90002 is not always client side. It kicked me out of the game, refusing to let me log in for several minutes, while my internet kept working completely fine once. Skype call continued without hiccups, webpages loaded as fast as ever. Most of the time 90002 means it's your internet, but not always, apparently.

I'm just hoping if all else fails then when the expansion arrives some major tech side changes happen and that these errors stop happening.I'm literally do not know what else I can do.And when even a VPN won't work while all else works fine I get more and more inclined to think that is it on Square Enix's side.

Yea, I use pingzapper and keep getting hit with 90002 while in the DF.

Ive didnt have much of a trouble with this sort of stuff , until the last patch , i doubt its the your or my internet , its SE .. or some overloaded Server-node just before SE.

It used to be just the 90002 error but even though I still disconnect every hour,now I sometimes get the 90003 error instead of 90002.I have not found any info on the 90003 error.Nothing on it on google,game forums or this game's reddit page.

It's possible that it's neither your ISP or SE, but instead a bad node you have to pass through in between that they don't have direct control over. Have you ever done a traceroute to see where the connection is being lost?

This game requires a bit more of a stable connection than 2 cans tied by string. I'm willing to bet your disconnections are due to a line stability issue, most people who ask me about their disconnections end up having more packet loss and line jitter than your average copper cabled ADSL connection wired by a monkey on stilts with coke bottle glasses.

And I'd agree with you were it not for the fact my this error happens every hour on the dot while no other MMO disconnects ever.I may be wrong but instability shouldn't be so predictable which is why I still think there could be other reasons for this error to be happening literally like clockwork.

Don't get me wrong though I very much still think my ISP is to blame which is why I've been yelling at them for over a week now and am close to just changing my ISP.

The way you describe your problem points to something else besides your ISP. It's sounds like there's a problem with one of the hops you take to get to the servers. Since other MMOs and services aren't going to take the exact same internet path to their own servers, it's not unusual that they aren't affected while FFXIV continues to have problems. If you can predict the issue a you say, do a traceroute while you're having an episode and share that information with your ISP. If it really is a bad node it might be possible for them to have you switched over to a different route to see if it alleviates the problem. Saying "Internet broke, you fix" won't get you anywhere if you can't show your ISP where to look. Otherwise it's like asking a construction worker to search a million miles of road for a pothole to fill instead of just telling him exactly where the hole is.
