No one is advocating super long travel times. We are advocating None-Instant Travel that is faster than walking. If the quests are only about walking to somewhere in town then they are bad quests. If the bulk of it is just travel they need to work on making better quests rather than making the game less convenient to move around in.
I have no idea why people think having to wait on a ship is somehow better than instaporting.
Jynx's post with the loading screens and all that is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in this thread thus far, especially since unless there is mandatory content on the airship rides it'd essentially be a long loading screen for most players anyway!
I'm all for adding meaningful content that takes a while to complete but there is literally no point to super long travel times. If at any point I'm not pressing buttons, I'm not playing the game.
Auto running or following someone to a destination isn't playing the game. Just walking around for 10 minutes at a time, I guess you could call it playing the game but wow... that's not exactly fun now is it? If they want players to utilize the huge zones they've made they should give the players incentive to do so by putting things to do and see there rather than just making the players have to walk through on their way to point B. It really isn't that hard of a concept to grasp.
