Just got around to reading this derptastic thread, and by the looks of it, you seem to be under the assumption that if given the option, everyone you know would chose to skip the airship ride rather than stay on it for the entire ride.

I was just saying................. All my friends are going to ride the ship, that was meant to be hypothetical. I can't deal with something that doesn't make any one bit of sense. I see that noone can shed light on this matter. Please some one, for the last time how does 1=10000000000000000000000000 taking off at the same time make sense and arriving at different times.

It doesn't make sense. A lot of things in this game don't make sense. This is just a trivial matter.

Do it on your freetime if you wants to enjoy the scenery, since you have so much time to watch the scenery. The novelty of riding airship/boat is gone after the first time. There are alot of scenarios in FFXI which makes alot of people facepalmed because of this dumb as *** rides.

There are times when i got back late from work, people are already gathered at einherjar spot but to get there you need to ride a boat to that whatever town from whitegate and makes the other players waits even longer just for the sake of me, in the end events could get pushed 1hour behind schedule.

I am not sure where is the fun or how do i find the decency in keeping the others waiting because i wanted to enjoy the scenery, but each to their own.

I suppose I should walk to work for 3 hours everyday. Why pay for the gas I burn when I could walk and watch the scenery.

Good for you that you can conserve alot of animas and love walking so much across the world, do you also play solo most of the time? for me, i don't have much anima to conserve, i have to teleport to actually do contents without wasting other people's times.

Again, they are having both options available, If you have patience and are so in love with immersion in games, go ahead and ride the airship. Why can't both options co-exist? It made both sides happier, at this point, people that is against the idea of instant-airship are just whining for the sake of it, there is no justified reason.

I was thinking it would be nice to have just a short ride like a couple of minutes until I read this.
I completely forgot how long it could take to get to some places.
I remember spending over an hour getting from Whitegate back to Bastok >_>

I wasted about half an hour because on the second ship I got on was attacked by those skeles and some asshole kited them inside.

I hated travelling to that place, and I'm glad I never got too high tbh since I never had to put up with exploring even further to places that take even longer to get to.

Then again,I consider defragmenting my computer as fun.
