Its just like how I'm not going to hardly use anima anymore because of chocobos. Anima is dumb, in my opinion and a few others. Whats a point in having an airship then jaber if your not going to ride it?

Why wouldn't you ride it if you enjoy riding it, have the option of riding it, and are not inconveniencing anyone by doing so?

As for chocobos and anima.... If I feel like riding a chocobo around, I'll ride a chocobo around. And I'll probably feel like doing so a lot of the time, because it'll be much more enjoyable when it doesn't take forever to get anywhere.
However, I am well aware that I am not going to feel like doing so ALL the time, and that making everyone wait around for me is not a good way to make friends, so it's nice to have the option of using anima to teleport when I don't feel like running the same path for the tenth time.
Anima is technically not 'instant' as you still have... what, four hours of downtime to regen one point? When you've hit 0 anima after using it all on the swimsuit event you learn this rather quickly. You stop using anima and start running everywhere. And you tire of it. Very. Very. Quickly.
Immersion is only enjoyable when you want to be immersed, and you're not going to want to be immersed all the time, no matter what you think, which is why it's great to have the option to do so when you want and the option to skip it when you just don't feel like it.

Again, it's the same thing we felt the need to stress to SE months ago: immersion is needed. Why you feel the need to conflate the two all over again is beyond me. . .

I don't give a rat's arse whether the trip is instant or not, I'm just tired of seeing people claim that one way or the other is somehow less challenging.

Again, I see where you're coming from with the immersion complaint. I don't personally find that it breaks immersion, but I can see how others would find it breaking their senses of immersion. I can understand the argument, even if I don't think it's a big deal. Just please stop saying that it's "easymode."

This thread descended into madness about 24 pages ago lol.
We are obviously selfish because we don't agree 100% with the OP (OMG people not agreeing on the internet o.O /sarcasm) that airship travel should just be 10mins long so that the people arguing about immersion and realism get to sit there through the journey like the ferry, while the rest of us usually afk anyway.

SE are giving us options and choices and that is not to some players' liking because an airship ride where you can skip the journey automatically means we all want everything with an instant level-up, kill boss and get endgame gear button. Obviously they only play for other people because they won't ever get the choice in game to do what they want to do- and are always on the way to a group, or have people waiting on them, rather than just traveling around doing leves/quests whatever on their own time- so they will be forced to skip the ride and that's NOT FAIR!.............

I get bored of this kind of thing and tend to try and stay fairly unbiased and nice on these forums, so this kind of sarcasm is kind of out of character for me. But, am I really the only person that sees that a discussion that has turned into a s**t flinging contest over one simple option SE are giving us for an airship ride is pretty pathetic? If they made it with no options I wouldn't give a damn, but we are getting an option so of course us "casual", "new gen MMO" players are ruining it for everyone else by having even the slightest bit of happiness about it.

actually you're worse everything should not be handed to you, full immersion ride like ferry, just a bit longer. it's fair should be no option to skip.
