No, I'm not always heading to a party. I'm just saying this for argumentative points. They will always have to wait for me. Its not being rude, its called I want to feel like I'm in the world. Not going to let other people take that away. YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO RIDE THE AIRSHIP ANYWAYS HURP DURP

YOSHI P stated this was temp again, and the cs would come later on in a different patch, so it does not matter what anyone says.

the topic has been beat to death enough.

I keep seeing people who are for the keeping the option of having the airship instant travel on refer to the airship ride as 5-1o minutes. A trip from bastok to jeuno in FFXI took just under five minutes. Because this game does have a more casual friendly atmosphere I could see it taking even less time.

The airship ride doesn't have to be 5-1o minutes long. And if you can't wait less then 5 minutes to get to your destination you probably don't have time for anything else (because you're crazy if five minutes of travel kills all your party time), so just log off on the airship and be there when you log back on. Don't kill things by giving people the option to skip this.

currently i use anima for: teleport to 3 cities - 3 x 2 = 6 anima (one city is home point)

field leves (emerald moss + treespeak; drybone + halatali; iron lake) = 3+1(i run to drybone)+2= 6 anima

local leves (LL: bald knoll, iron lake (drop items off when i do field leve), bearded rock = 4+0+0 = 4; Ul'dah: city quest = 0; gridania: emerald moss (drop items off when i do fieldleve), bentbrench, nine ivies = 0+0+4=4) = 8 anima

    i log at dragonhead = 3 anima

that's a total of 23 anima i use per 36 hours. i have a limited amount of time to get these things done prior to leve reset and dungeon runs.

please tell me how i can stop running out of anima and why instantaneous travel option via airship is a bad idea.

Would a dev please post on this issue we are having. Maybe clear up more things for us? I don't know explain in detail on how 1 airship splits into 100000000000. I would love to know, as I'm sure others do as well.

These "immersion" people just don't get it. CONTENT DEFINES WHAT IS WORTHWHILE. Give me an overflowing abundance of randomized content on an airship, and I'll gladly watch the cut scene and enjoy the ride. The same goes for walking: Give me hundreds of content, random instances, random NMs, random NPCs, and etc. between the cities. I'll be more than happy to walk after that. Until there's boatloads of spontaneous content, keep everything instant.

I can certainly agree with that, I'm feeling nearly the same on this issue.

That is precisely the point. Actually, i think you are misunderstanding the "immersion" people. Obviously they are asking for the same thing. So let's start stressing that point instead of stressing insta travel. Make sense?

The issue i see is where people's requests and concerns are. Start requesting more content for immersion to become a reality. Making the boat or airship insta travel is NOT fixing the problem, it is concealing and masking it.

This is what the anti-travel people need to realize and start addressing in their posts, then we can hope for a better game.

If you're saying that content is what defines worthwhile and not immersion you're saying we can rid ourselves of all context.

Do you understand the extent of what you're saying there? The only thing you actually do in a game is press buttons THAT is your content. Unless you're trying to say that getting gear is content and let me tell you that that piece of gear you got: THAT IS IMMERSIVE. Same with leveling up. It's all in the attempt to emulate a fantasy world. Since it is a game however they have to make things take time and work and feel fun. That lies in the combat system and how you travel around. And you're right now suggesting we get rid of travel.

Just make the airship work like the fairy, then add a 'sleep through the trip' option :U

Personally, I'm not going to be playing this game for the thrill of navigating ridiculous menus or the excitement of waiting around for ten minutes while my character idles on a boat for the twentieth time.
