Wouldn't have to be this way if SE could just put some legit filters in place so that every time I take off Busy status I don't get a screen full of RMT tells. I mean, would it really be so hard? Is it just not something the dev team cares about? It's got to be the easiest QoL fix to improve player retention that they could possibly implement, and here we are, about to go into an expansion, where a ton of new players are going to join and then promptly leave because hey, I got better things to do than get spammed with advertising if that's what MMOs are all about apparently (good bye first time MMO players, thanks Yoshida!).
Blame SE for not doing jack. It's not unreasonable that paying customers come here to voice their displeasure at situations like Hiruke's.
Tired of seeing these complaining that SE does nothing. Have you actually looked at the gibberish the gil sellers send you in tells. It doesn't qualify as english in any sense of the word so there are filters in place but they have worked out ways to bypass them. I think also this varies from server to server as on Pheonix I rarely ever get any tells and by the time I notice them they have already been banned, I suspect because there is a system in place that if a gil seller receives a certain amount of blacklists in a time frame they are banned. One thing to note about why SE never tells us what systems are in place to combat this, in short any information about what they do is also given to the sellers and the second you know someone is doing something to stop you you can figure out a way around it. So don't expect SE to come out and say we are doing X, Y or Z to deal with gil sellers but do what you can to help the problem on your server. black list and report gil sellers and bots when you see them Se will be coming up with better and better technologies to deal with them but due to the nature of this problem they won't be able to tell anyone what they are doing.

SE doing nothin?? really??
odin used to have horrible bot spam in uldah insanely bad guess what?? maximum tells i get a week is 2-3 tops... dont even get spam on shout in any of the major cities anymore.. used to avoid uldah cause the bot spam constantly there.. now its peaceful not a single shout by gil sellers.. so obviously SE are doing somethin right :3
even bot spam friend requests i might get 1 a day but thats easily solved with a blacklist
There are filters, however, filters are easy to figure out and get around. Hence the reason most of the tells are symbols instead of words. Maybe they should just filter tells all together.Wouldn't have to be this way if SE could just put some legit filters in place so that every time I take off Busy status I don't get a screen full of RMT tells. This stopped being funny from both sides ages ago. Now people just want to shout over each other to be the loudest.
The amount of rmt threads are becoming almost as annoyingly spammy as the rmt tells in game..
Ignore Our Players Section.
