So really, get with the program or switch to a tank class and do it your own way. Those are really your only options: 1: Quit, 2: Let the tank drive, or 3: play as a tank.

As a PLD Main, if a DPS pulls and I don't know them or anything; 9 times of of 10 I let them die. Healers, 8 times out of 10 lol. As a WHM, I won't heal the DPS who pulled until the mobs are dead that they pulled.

This is just a prime example of how to be a bad tank. I used to main PLD, and by not doing your job if a dps or healer makes a mistake and pulls, and letting them die is childish and will just make the run longer. Also, this reeks of tank entitlement. Tanks are not the only ones with the 'power' of life and death in a dungeon. I'd actually wager healers are truly the ones who can 'play god' the most if they wanted to. If a tank goes down, on anything not a boss, chances are WHM and the dps can just as easily defeat the trash. In the lower dungeons you don't even need a tank at all (and some of the HM dungeons, as well - as shown by the 4 WHM runs people, myself included, often do).

Tanks and healers and dps all need to cooperate // even when people make mistakes I still heal them since that is my purpose as a WHM. If they're rude and doing it on purpose I vote kick or abandon. However, I don't let one person's inability to do their job or work as a team affect my own ability to do so -- why lower myself or try to teach a lesson they will most likely never learn?

Just maybe it'll teach them NOT TO BE THE TANK. DPS have no business deliberately pulling mobs and shouldn't be. Stop giving those that do a free ride.

As a WHM myself, and a healer in many MMOs, I always heal the ones who make mistakes UNLESS they keep repeating their mistakes and it's negatively effecting my ability to perform my job for the whole party. Usually the way it goes for me is that if you die due to mechanics I'll rez you once, maybe twice depending on circumstances. After that I've wasted enough mana on you and unless you're really needed for the fight to be completed you can stay down.

PS; Tanks sometimes aren't even needed for bosses. In this game and others I've had tanks die and me, the healer, the DPS have taken down the boss.

Because this generation doesn't understand what self control is much less how to enact it. Most act like douche bags because it is the "cool kid" thing to do and when they get called out on it they further spiral into such acts. Who is to blame? It's not the game. It's not SE who made the game the way they thought it should be made. It's not the people who these remarks and actions are directed at. It is the morons who think it is their lot in life to "try" and make fools of those they disagree with. Thing is they only make fools of themselves and what is sad is they don't think so. They believe that they are doing something constructive and when that notion fails them they throw a tantrum exclaiming how everything is going to fall apart now because it isn't what they wanted.

It really boils down to simplicity in human thinking. People will try to "lord" themselves over others because they feel they can and when it doesn't work they resort to the tactics of a toddler. Simply put, people like the person you were responding to are part of the problem, not the solution. However you will never convince them of that.

Well, as a tank you're intended to determine what should be pulled and when it is pulled, no?

The game is sort of designed that way O.o. it's the tank's job.

Besides, if we want to get specific and technical here, it was 2 wishes against 2 wishes. Me and my friend vs him and his friend. So who should get to decide what happens?

If your answer is anything other than the tank, I don't think you understand how the tank's role works.

I feel like people are missing about how healers feel in this.
If you die because you pulled an overwhelmingly huge amount of mobs as a healer, then no one get mad at me over it.
What needs to happen is the tanks need to ask the HEALER'S on how big and small they should pull.
Or; if the healer nicely asks for small pulls or so because they're under geared or whatever reason, you either suck it up
or eat the 30. Not everyone can go at a tanks pace because they assume the healer can get on their level yet.
Some tanks are butt's. They really are and are not mindful, DPS's are too. Because once I did Bray, I said I couldn't do big pulls yet...I struggled.
I asked for smaller pulls then the DPS said "No just do big ones." and one time I got told I sucked as a healer because he pulled such a large amount of mobs
I literally used lustrate 6 times and SC heal and E4E still died...so...there's that.

They never even reached a point (cutscenes) where the OP and the DPS disagreed on how to run the dungeon, the dps simply refused to participate when he learned there was a disagreement.
