Start off by reading thisHey, I'm fairly new to SMN and I'm also a fairly fresh 60 SMN. I didn't really play SMN before the expansion, and I'm wondering if any of the info in the main post is out of date.
What pet is best to use now? The OP seems to make Ifrit sound the best in most situations, but is that true now with Dreadwyrm Trance and the ability to extend the 10% increased DoT duration?
Can someone give me a good opener? I'm having trouble figuring out when to use Raging Strikes and Tri-Disaster. I assume we hold both back for Trance.
Do you ever Trance without Tri-Disaster? If so, what do you cast during the duration?
What's the optimal Trance rotation? I'm trying to fit two Festers in, but I always mess up and am not sure on the timing.

Easiest (esp if you lag, and are worried about losing deathflare, which if it does happen btw tanks your dps close to 50-100dps just by itself) DT rotation:
Ruin II (or Bio) > DT > [optional: tri-d] > Fester > 4xRuin III > Ruin II [or bio] > Fester > Deathflare.
Gives you ~1.5 seconds to spare.
I do NOT recommend trying to fit anything else in there - not worth the risk of losing Deathflare.
If you Tri-D at the start of Dreadwyrm, is it still worth it to cast Bio at the end instead of Ruin 2? Specifically when using Ifrit.
No, that is simply if bio is about to run out...if you had preapplied bio (either to start DT or the GCD before) it will be very close to running out (or it may have already run out).
In the case that it will run out 2 GCDs before DT ends, keep on using Ruin III. Then simply end with Bio > Deathflare! OR if you have enough SS and are feeling adventurous, Bio > [beat] > Fester > Deathflare. The reason being that remember Bio has an application time...you will clip your next GCD and possibly lose Deathflare, simply to get 30 potency more out of fester...not worth it imo.
I'm all for pushing for higher dps, but imo the best way to do that is to play extremely conservatively, and hone your rotation to perfection, and learn fights. Then you can do high risk low reward gains!

What's an enrage lol. Kinda wish I had a bard but oh well, I think this is still pretty good.
I will try uploading my PoV soon !

That's really quite fantastic. Your group's strategy must be more DPS heavy than the first couple day's clears, basically at all times keep all enemies together. Most SMNs I see who cleared day 1 or 2 are in the 1500~ area without a BRD. If I might ask, when did you use RS in your run? Any core, big waves you saved stuff for? I'm guessing you didn't throttle for the "DPS check" waves specifically.http://i60.tinypic.com/x6izb.jpg - A2S

Third wave, the 4 jagged dolls wave and the last wave. Pots were used on the third wave as well and the 8th wave(Also save enkindle for that part). That's really quite fantastic. Pretty similar to mine, I did 4th > Jagd > last. Guess I just gotta make sure my group's strat is more SMN friendly, and to play sharper, I guess.
I love you and love your face for this openerWas 12% crit, X-pot, last I tried was 1,070. Opener is:
B2 > M > B > Swift + Fester > Shadowflare > Rouse + Spur > R2 > Pot > R2 > RS + Pain > R2 > Fester + DWT > R2 > Enkindle + Aether > R2 > 3D > R2 > Fester > R3 > R2 > Deathflare
Then following basic DoT upkeep, keeping stacks alive until DWT can be used with 3D + Aetherflow, get 2 Festers per DWT, use Rouse + Spur on CD. Parse ended at around 3:50, after a final Fester. Not sure if the 1100s are just more crits or a better end time or smoother execution, or if my opener is simply flawed enough to give me a few % deviation.
