I think they both have their merits for sure. Its FAR less clear cut then it has been in the past.
Right now i feel like both are equally good depending on the fight.
radiant shield only affects physical classes as far as i know, magical classes can't deal physical damage unless they are smacking with their weapons. For example a blm won't move every time out of their comfort zone just for the cleave and stack in for a weapon smack, lol please correct me if i'm wrong. I already tested this on magical classes, it doesn't work.

Any class that is hit with physical damage will redirect a 50 Potency physical hit to the source of the damage.
i.e.
BLM may do 50 damage
DRG may do 400 damage.
I don't think there is a range limitation once you have the buff, on whether you will deal your 50 potency to the boss upon taking physical damage.
But as you can see there is definitely a priority system on who best to be taking damage during that buff and magic classes aren't top priority as their redirected damage is based off their physical damage stats.
I just hit 60 last night so I haven't had a chance to do the fight, but with that strat then, 8 people take 8 cleaves? (64 Hits in regards to Radiant Shield!?!?!?)

alright so i worked on the rotation and tried out ifrit some more and im hitting 780-820 consistently now
i should be looking to get two festers in every trance and reapplying ever dot, correct? after that ive been using ruin 3 until i have little time left where i ruin2 and deathflare at the last second
does this sound like im on the right path?
You should save Tri-D for dw trance, otherwise you waste too much time reapplying buffed dots.
Note: it is also a dps loss to reapply buffed dots...just don't do it unless they are falling off naturally.
Also, has anyone done the math to see if it is more damage to dump mana into Ruin II + autoattack or Ruin III (non trance)?
Well, if this makes you guys even happier, Summoners are absolutely monsters in Ravana EX
I just have a quick question, prolly noone tested yet, but is it worth using Teraflare as oppose to spamming Ruin3 under DT?
