See i don't get this.
If you read my explanation you see i did exactly that but egi just didn't care.
I put it on obey, then placed it next to target and then attacked said target and still he went for the boss.

I didn't say hit obey, place it next to the target, and then start attacking. I said hit obey while the enemy you want it to attack is targeted. Your method could very well have your pet attacking the boss because of how Guard works (or you had simply already been attacking the boss yourself), and nothing you did will make it switch. Hitting Obey while you have a target selected sends your pet at it.

You need to target the enemy and then use Obey to force the Egi to attack that target. Just because you switch targets or move your Egi doesn't mean it will follow you, you have to use Sic or Obey if you want to command it to target a specific enemy after it has already engaged another.
