I've did this before, but I started to feel like I was losing more damage trying to recast DoTs on my add and killing it with Ruin II spam. Not to mention the damage you lose just to kill something sooner and your DoTs don't go for full duration. At the same time, if something happens that potentially kills your add ahead of time like a DoT before its positioned, that's another issue. You can certainly get off a Bane and Painflare though. That's usually what get's me my third stack of Aetherial for DWT sooner after.
