Did you know it all the time because you calculated the worth of secondary stats already for yourself? Or did you always just assume or had some divine afflatus about spell speed being great for summoner?Just smiling about the whole BiS bs and all the discussions bout it...
*high5* <3
honestly? i just like to be different and having fun being an underdog - i even had a pure parry drk back in the days with midas release, who gone for crit/ss as well as the Anima questline popped up. or farming dailys/weeklys like city etc with my pure crit arcanist. for me its not being on top on any ranking lists - never was & never will be - its all about fun and not about a community-behavior.
i won't judge anyone for their builds but you can't deny that its really funny to watch that 95% of the com is just following statweights every time they change without standing their own ground and ideas like uhm... ya lemmings![]()

Hmm, the stat weights between Det and SS are sooooo slight that you're not going to see a huge change in your damage if you choose to prioritize one over the other. But! If you do want to pick the *best* gear for the setup with the most damage potential... SS is technically the way to go... Hence, the term BiS. I'm not particularly happy about SS being weighted higher now, as I am not that fond of SS as a whole... and it's not just because I like to see bigger numbers with my direct hits. :P SS can lead you to go OOM faster if you are not careful (due to the direct consequence of casting spells faster than ever). But, as long as you aren't excessively spamming Ruin 2 or having to raise a LOT of people, you should be okay. Personally, I don't have mana issues unless I have to raise people and the fight goes on way longer than it should... The other important thing to remember is that you'll only really have to worry about mana in fights that have no long breaks, like AS9 and, to some extent, AS10. In AS11, for example, there are so many long breaks that it's really not a bother, even with the occasional raise. I've yet to finish AS12 so I'm not sure what my mana will look like by the end. I've always enjoyed Crit/Det (call me old fashioned...) so I was excited to see all the Crit/Det raid gear this tier... but of course, now SS is weighted higher than Det. SE is trolling us. :P

Lvl 40 summoner in training here. I main BLM, so I'm used to big numbers, which makes this job feel a tad weak upfront. At the moment it just feels like a DoT wait-fest, does it get any more involved or is this all I have to look forward to short of a deathflare here and there?
Sadly ARR smn is literally keeping dots up and using your aetherflow stacks. 60 smn is all about aether stack management and finding the right time to burst.Lvl 40 summoner in training here. Does anyone have a good macro that includes Swiftcast, the Summons and then also automatically sets the pet to Obey (all in one macro)?

Don't have a macro but I think this would work:
/ac swiftcast <me> <wait.1>
/ac summon <me> <wait.2>
/pac obey <pet>
edit: just tested in game, the animation for the summon is too long for a wait.1, wait.2 seems to do the trick
