Connecting the DoTs: A Summoner Guide

Fester or other skills that give aether stacks. I'm basically wondering how often I should be using fester and other skill to gain aether stacks so that I'm maximizing my dps but at the same time I'm not doing it too often so that I don't have my cooldowns up when I cast DWT. I'm also wondering if I'm saving DWT for certain situations so that it's not wasted, should I also be saving my festers and other skills that give aether stacks since I might be loosing the stacks by saving DWT.

actually there are different ways to get into DWT. not every way is max dps but u can say different combinations fit different situations.

Fastes way to get Bahamuts Spirit up is (after applying dots) fester>painflare>energy drain on single targets or fester>painflare>bane on casual mobs. both are definitly not the way to spare max dps but most of the time its enough to punch dng mobs down fast. talking about boss fights or longterm single targets you can either use fester>painflare>fester for 2nd best way to trance (u generally can reach dwt within one dot duration) or even better but more time consuming using fester>fester (ruin ll or even lll if your manapool is up while cd) > recast bio > fester > trance. making most out of your dps along your way to trance - but you need more time to reach dwt cause u have to recast your dots for making fester max dps and thats a thing not every boss will grand you to cause of movement-mechanics or aoes. its given' to the situation which way to enter dwt serves best. but knowing the different ways and their purpose will let you understand this cls better

What do I do if all Cooldowns are up midfight, I got 3 Aetherfloe stacks but my Aetherflow is on CD for another whole minute? Do I just do my opener without the additional aetherflow stacks?

uhm dunno exactly but our smn was around 2400+ on s1s clear with ilvl 253 i think

hope to hear from other Smn too. As at the moment I'm hitting 2350/2300 with an ilvl257 on a full dummy run of about 15 minutes with Ifrit. I don't have bis of food or pots. Is a bit of a mish mash of gear I got (can check on my character) I can break by just the a12s dummy with 4 seconds left

Do I need to be hitting more? (Ignore opener cause that's just the start not the full fight)

actually i never did dps checks with ifrit - we are 2 smns in our fc static both are using Ruda cause of con to expanse dot-duration in trance mode via tri. so honestly i can't give advices for a proper Ifrit rotation. tht being said im way under my team mate (just got ilvl 248 yet and another build than him - he goes with crit=det >ss, i go with ss > crit = det)

but talking to an Ifrit-SMN for endgame content would be indeed very interesting :3

Hey there, I use Ifrit for end game raid. I stacted with Garuda, but learned Ifrit was the way to go. Particularly the first small Boss in as9 then for as10 and as11. Our group hasn't gotten to as12 yet. I consider the frequency of aoe damage party will take ad well as the casts needed. It is a little more difficult since dots are not extended due to lack of contagion. Much more flexibility with more potent attacks on Boss by Ifrit and his shield. You'll learn how to really keep the dots up while dodging everything like you haven't ever done before lol.
