Arcanist help? :(

Hey all! i want to try out arcanist because it looks awesome and the pikachu like pets are kawaii as hell!

But i wonder.. Is arcanist a viable class to play at 50? or do summoner and scholar pull way ahead of the arcanist class?

Because the arcanist class feels like the lancer class... it's just there so you can reach a better version of your class

Hey yep sorry there is no benefit to playing arcanist at level 50. Not only do you lose a lot of crucial abilities that both summoner and scholar get, but also an arcanist can't even function as a healer like a scholar.

All the classes are like this pretty much. They are all replaced by their jobs at Level 30, there's no reason to stay as your class.

There was a niché case where in PvP Archer and Maraduer were sometimes used over Bard and Warrior, but that has been nerfed in one of the patches.

Well, if it's any consolation, it takes a while for the pets to get replaced when you're a summoner. A SCHs pets are replaced immediately but I'm level 44 on my summoner and I still have the blue pikachu. The yellow was replaced at level 35, I think, and we get the fiery one at level 30. The fairy pets are adorable though.

You get the pets as you defeat each primal and do the smn quest. You should be getting garuda soon.

Yeah, I figured that. I just killed Garuda but haven't finished my level 45 quest. Figured I'd that that one at level 45.

If you don't feel like taking things too seriously, you can puzzle ad bewilder ppl in random FATE runs by staying arcanist (i did it a few times just to see what reaction i would get... pretty funny stuff sometimes) but if you are loading duties and whatnot, you will probably raise a bitchfit and kick you from the party before you even get to try.

In the more practical sense, you'll find that SMN and SCH will feel pretty different (ESP SCH) and you'll find it hard to go back to ACN altogether.
