Is there a time limit on how long I can keep a plot empty? We plan on buying 2 plots of land so one of the houses wont obstruct the view of the main house.

Nope, the system for automatic relinquishing of land isn't implemented yet, so you'll be able to keep it empty for as long as you'd like until SE changes it.
That's actually kind of funny when you think about it. You could make the message on the sign say "We bought this so no one else could have it." since people will probably look at the sign quite a bit to see if it's free or not.
I don't know about the population size of this server but it sounds like there might not be much of a land shortage at the moment if this is actually possible to do.
Would be interesting if you could turn those areas into parks for people to enjoy the view of.
You shouldn't say you're sorry if you don't mean it, because it just makes you a bigger jerk. And "no shortages" is just relative to your demand, really.
I hope this is a troll topic.
I don't want to believe people like him exist.
Ehh, I'm lvling up an extra FC to rank 6 just so I can have 3 houses in Goblet right next to one another.. Plots 8, 11, and 12 are all medium size and make a nice little cul de sac when purchased together and make hell of a farm :P
If you ever move to Jenova, I'd be glad to sell you a plot for the right price.
Someone ought to burn your houses down.
