Her answer was because I wasn't, despite no one going below 90% HP at any point. I keep my fairy on obey and just fill in with phys whenever a party member's HP goes below 80% or so as needed.

So, do you diplomatically point out that you are, in fact, healing with your fairy or do you just let it slide in dungeons? Is it just not worth looking like a jerk in a dungeon group or does it not matter in the long run?
Only really stupid people will fail to notice HP being restored. I've never once encountered this problem.

To give benefit of the doubt, perhaps this player was so new that they had no idea what the fairy was for and was also one of those players who overheal at the slightest boo-boo.

If someone gave me attitude for absolutely no reason, I would invite them to complain if they died from my lack of healing, but otherwise invite them to continue doing their own jobs. If a DPS caster is healing, I will flat out ask them to stop wasting time and get on with what they're supposed to be doing, pointing out that, if they are such danger that they feel the need to stop and heal, they will probably die while standing still attempting to cast that feeble heal rather than avoiding damage and getting healed by me.
