Some trends I notice about bots and RMT spammers.

Hello Niryco here,

I just want to point out some obvious trends of majority of the bots or gil RMT to which can be used to improve the efforts of banning. However i am not sure how much do these trends apply to other servers, but it just seems very recurrent in my server gilgamesh.

Firstly all RMT spammers + gil bots who send friend request are always gladiators that are level 1 in steps of Nald, so why not just narrow down the search to newly created gladiators and do a positional check on them 10 mins after creation? The moment anomalies are detected they can be easily monitored and banned instantly. Also the positional checks can be done at intervals if the player still sticks to level 1 because bots don't level but send tells to every player. This methodology would be not effective forever but at least it would hinder bot creation until RMT spammers come up with new ideas.

Next farming bots, most of these bots in general are black mages without a doubt, however it would be hassle to check all black mages within the game, so why not just round up all the high level individuals? As in only do a spot check on level 50 black mages and just look out for black mages that are at least 1 yalms within each others radius. The number of would pop would be extremely great because in cities like Mor Dhona people at level 50 are everywhere, however the funny thing is bots mostly don't go to Mor Dhona. Hence SE can observe all pops outside of Mor Dhona's main city and ban those obvious bots that are well standing pretty much 0 yalms away.

These are the general trends that I observe amongst bots only on those on gilgamesh. Furthermore these trends would not hold for a long time once it has been exposed (oh man!) and it may take awhile to implement any of these searches and crackdown on RMT.

And what are you going to do when they start making conjurer spam bots, or marauders. Or activate their leveling bot script while spamming tells =/
Or when the blms get a bit smarter and actually not stand together? This is easy to do as they already teleport all over the place.

Just applying a band-aid and not really solving the problem
