Gear in Heavensward

So far, I'm loving the gear we have seen. I have a slight concern (probably unjustified right now) but can the DRK have gear that is different from WAR and PLD?

Can we also give WAR and PLD different Esoteric and Law gear? One thing that has always dissapointed me was, aside from the weapon, the two look the same. no other job does this, why do it with the only two tanks in the game?

Healers and Casters also have this problem.

1. I wouldn't like this: having one type of gear for multiple classes helps a lot with gearing up

2. It is not only the tanks that share gear: Healers and dd-casters share their gear as well (as you are a Blackmage as your main(at least that is what your forum Profil says) you should be Aware of that)

the only bad thing about them sharing gear is that both classes need to have the same glamour, if that would be solved you could have your different looking tanks and People could glamour calls specific gear (like relict gear) without Messing up their look when changing to the other class.

At the very least, relics and AF Gear is Job-specific (base class can't even wear). So at least you can look forward to those and try your hand at the Glamour system.

This is on purpose. It is a design choice.

If it did split off in designs, I dont think it will with the present gear which players arent going to hold on for long anyways come the expansion, thus making it pretty pointless. So to cut development time for adding, think there will just be new weapon drops in level 30+ content and new recipes to craft new weapons for the new jobs 50 and under.

All the rest will be shared, also if any of the new jobs use a different main stat they would probably add it like they did with NIN by adding Dex to MNK gear for the already existing drops.

People whine and complain that everyone is the same, all WAR's are the same, all DRG's are the same, no uniqueness. Yet when someone looks for at least a visual difference (nice to know at a quick glance what character is what class) everyone loses their minds....

I dont expect that either. Hoping that with the new stuff it will be different. Unfortunately I doubt we will see this kind of thing until we start to get some lateral progression.

We will have different tier gear (artifact in this game), but the general "plate" armor is going to remain for all plates. Imagine how horrible it would be having to get a different set for PLD, WAR and DRK. It's already bad enough that most DPS don't share theirs. This would make gearing even more of a nightmare.

Healers and Tanks are the most important jobs there is in game. With the way weekly lockout is, it'll force a tank/healer to choose one specific job to main instead of benefiting from shared gear.

They will get different JSE gear but as for like Alexander gear it will probably be tank, healer, caster, ranged, sharing gear. If they have more gear then the drop pool gets so bloated that it takes so much longer get the drop you are after cause all this stuff you don't want drops more often
