Background: IRL I sew and have engaged in, or at least tried out, many of the fiber / fabric arts. Including spinning.

Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel

A. Fly Wheel
B. Drive Band
C. Flyer
D. Flyer Whorl
E. Maidens
F. Mother-Of-All
G. Tension Knob
H. Bobbin
I. Treadle
J. Footman
K. Orifice
The animation shows us fingering the drive belt. The wheel is hand cranked and stops every revolution.

IRL the left hand is 3" - 5" away from the orifice feeding fibers in. The wheel is run on a foot treadle and never stops.

I don't know how to link a video here so here is a link to a video:

The sewing animation is actually an embroidering animation but for me that's minor compared to the spinning wheel bit.
