Request: Let us turn Alexandrite back in for seals

You are quite mistaken to think that the most rare catalyst in the game will only be used for one part of a relic quest. I foresee it being used for rare or top tier materia in the future. Hang on to it.

I don't see why you should be reimbursed if you're just giving up.

Plus you're forgetting that allied seals are not the only source of alexandrite. Someone could be racking up a ton of seals this way without doing anything related to the Hunt.

And why is this a bad thing? I personally hate the hunts, and refuse to do them, and I know several other people with the same viewpoint as my own. Maybe if the Hunts were closer to Treasure Maps or Levequests I'd be interested in it, but as it is I can't stomach them. However, I'd also like to the Allied Seals gear, but that'll never happen unless SE puts in a few more ways of getting Seals.

It doesn't need to be by trading in Alexandrite. Perhaps they could make it so that FATEs and Levequests also each gave a handful of Seals, something to allow you to build up your stock while working on leveling a class or something. Or perhaps they made it so you could exchange Grand Company seals for Allied seals, at a ratio of, let's say, 1000 GC for 5 Allied? Just something to allow people who aren't as enthralled by Hunts to build up their own stockpile.

Uh like y has SE not make alex purchasable with gc seals. 5000k gc seals per 1 alex no prob!
So easy to make 100k gc seals in an hour or so.
Why they haven't done this yet i'll never understand.
Its almost 3.0 and alex will be just another oil of time lol, still useful but obsolete.
They'll probably just make some bs name up like mahalexandrite for a new quest item.

Perhaps there could be a way that, if you bought the Alex with seals, you can turn them back in. Otherwise, like you say, people would be doing the Alex maps just for seals. Very few people even do hunts anymore.

I would do all the relic weapons if they would make materia easier to come buy. Either a once a day quest that grants a tier of materia you can only put into the relic weapon or make SBing have less RNG I'm almost done with my DRG Zodiac and I'm still trying to fix my NIN Zeta lol.

If you don't want to put in the work, you shouldn't get the reward. I don't see the issue with this :s

Do you think it should be possible to earn pvp gear too without ever doing pvp content? Coil gear without doing coil?

That's taking it to an extreme. Since no one really cares about hunts anymore (unless it's an S rank) and for the people who have already gotten their Z, they're still collecting Alexs. They can't (yet) be used in ANYTHING else in game. Even the people who collected primal seals and hung onto them still get to turn them in until Heavensward even though they're not used for anything anymore.
