People should be able to choose who they want to party with. It's an MMO, if I wanted to go back to waiting for pick up groups and randoms to party with for 99% of my playtime I will go back to playing FFXI.

"Sees dungeon party with two empty slots near last boss, joins with friend, kicks other two and brings in two more friends."
Not that stuff like that would be frequent, (I would hope, but it wouldn't surprise me.) But it would be detrimental.
This is why I am in favor of the current system. Its blind and mkes doing stuff like the above very difficult. Also, Aurum Vale! Pass!
I think its a great idea in its pure form, but you do have to take the snakes and trolls into account when incorperating something into a game.
Some dungeons and trials are very unpopular and would have an even more difficult time being filled if not for roulette.
But I do think some fine-tuning would be helpful. Many times we have been joined by a tank or healer who signed on to help a friend on a different instance but got placed with us instead, for which I am thankful, but a bit of fine-tuning would be useful
That may have been because the party leader didn't end up recruiting replacements. It may have been that they were preformed and didn't realize you can't get a drop-in rep if you start out as preformed.CAN, but doesn't always, and that's the problem. I tried to help out an FC-mate just last week who'd had their tank D/C or bail or something in Titan Trial mode. I didn't Low Roulette - I signed up directly for Titan Trial Mode. Poof, I wind up in a newly-formed group. My FC-mate thanks me for trying, and his group disbands shortly afterwards.
This simply should not happen. It makes no sense.
In my experience it would always put me in an in-progress queue before a new party if there's one with an option recruiting slot for my role.

Duty Finder needs a complete overhaul. I would like to queue for different duties as different jobs. Or even multiple jobs for the same duty (whichever gets me in it faster).
It's probably asking too much but one can dream...
I don't really think it's asking too much - that option would be good for everyone. It would likely considerably reduce queues across the board and make DFing a much better experience.
I'd also like a "forfeit match" button in TT.
The only improvement I would make to 'in progress' queuing would be to not actually give the pop-up until the DF has found people to replace all of the missing slots. The number of times I've joined an in-progress duty only to end up sitting around for 10 mins before leaving because no tank or healer joins...
