Taking "in progress" to the next level.

I think it would be a good idea if we had a menu that would function like an Duty Finder except it would show all the groups that needed a healer/DPS/tank from the entire Data Center. You could find who needed a party, switch to that job, and join them! This will help out DPS queues a lot because there will always be a party for everyone.

This feature could also extend to those in queue for a dungeon. Imagine the help story missions will get...

New player on DPS: Wow! I always wanted to be a Dragoon! I can't wait until i get to Heavensward and slay dragons! *queues for Toto-Rak*

The issue with this is the one they tried to fix way back in LoTA. It was a long dungeon and nobody wanted to START it so continuously fished for Job in Progress, which meant for ages you would sit there with people leaving the queue. With such an application you then get most people not wanting to start any dungeon and everyone just sitting waiting for one already in progress so they can get rewarded for only doing half a run. This way nobody even bothers ever starting a dungeon unless they explicitly need it and anyone who wants to get anything done will have to wait for 3-7 other people who need it for progression instead of getting roulettes sorted in.

It would be nice to put up a party finder in a dungeon that everyone in the Data Center can see. Or maybe have something that functions as a Data Center Lobby. You can go an interact with people from other servers.

My favorite Duty Finder experience was back before roulettes, where I queued up for one of the dungeons needed to advance the story into a dungeon with 2 dps because the tank and healer bailed on 'em. I healed the dragoon until a buddy of mine came in as a tank. It was great! I'd love some sort of 'distress beacon' DF thing where people could put in because their group is falling apart.

The other day, I was tanking low roulette in copperbell, and the two dps randomly left without a word, followed by the healer. Soloed the slime boss, had a black mage queue in and start to heal.. Glad I was able to shake a white mage out from my fc to finish it. Distress signal would be nice - I'd totally change roles to "rescue" groups in DF.

It's ridiculous. Who needs a member more? A group that hasn't even formed yet, or one that's actually on the clock? More than once, after a D/C or ragequit or whatever, I've been asked to fill in (or been in that position and called for help myself), only to sign up - and then get placed with a fresh group, while the group in need goes on waiting until they time out or disband. How does that make any sense at all???

I've had the opposite experience. I had a friend come in to rescue us in baby Sastasha after we kicked a healer for trolling our newbie tank. She queued specifically for Satasha "in progress" and got in right away.

I don't think it works for roulettes, but it CAN work if you queue for the individual dungeon as a replacement.

CAN, but doesn't always, and that's the problem. I tried to help out an FC-mate just last week who'd had their tank D/C or bail or something in Titan Trial mode. I didn't Low Roulette - I signed up directly for Titan Trial Mode. Poof, I wind up in a newly-formed group. My FC-mate thanks me for trying, and his group disbands shortly afterwards.

This simply should not happen. It makes no sense.
